11-3-11 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the November 3, 2011 episode of Impact

The show starts with James Storm in the ring cutting a promo saying that on his tombstone will have World Champion written on it. He says that there has been one guy who has been by his side all the way through and he asks Bobby Roode to come out. He comes out and Storm mentions that Roode got screwed out of the World Title at BFG and Storm said that he promised to give Roode the first Title shot. Roode then mentions how they struggled a few years back in TNA and then when they formed Beer Money they got over with the fans. Roode thanks Storm for helping him out in his career. He then says that tonight he will bring it and that they will steal the show. Roode says that they will tear the house down tonight and that the guy who walks out with the Title will be the better man. This was a decent opening promo.

They show Eric Young and Ronnie backstage. Who cares?

Knockouts Tag Team Champions Tara & Brooke Tessmacher vs. Madison Rayne & Gail Kim for the Titles. Madison & Gail win to become the new Champions when Madison pins Tara after Karen Jarrett gets involved. This was a solid match.

They show Garrett Bischoff backstage saying he wants his dad to apologize and that is all he has always wanted and that tonight he will apologize his way.

Garrett Bischoff is in the ring and he cuts a promo. He then asks his dad come out and says he will apologize to him. Eric comes out and Garrett apologizes for what he’s about to do and then he attacks him. Ric Flair and Gunner then come out and Garrett bails. This was awful. Does anybody care about this? I thought not!

They show Samoa Joe and Sting backstage and Joe says that Sting giving him a number on contender match last week won’t shut him up. Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair then come in and Bischoff says that Sting can’t fire him and he says that he wants a match with his son. Sting says that he will talk to Garrett about it. This was meaningless.

Christopher Daniels backstage saying that he has been on a winning streak and that he beat AJ twice (he lost the “I Quit” match). He then talks about the “recording” from Bound For Glory in the “I Quit” match. He then says that he is looking for a title match and beat RVD last week. RVD is standing behind Daniels while he is still talking and then RVD attacks him. Daniels runs and RVD says he will see him at Turning Point. This was good stuff. Daniels cut a great promo and the RVD attack was fun too.

Jessie Sorensen vs. X Division Champion Austin Aries. Sorensen gets the pin. This was a good match. Kid Kash was on commentary ragging on Jessie Sorenson. Afterwards Kash & Aries talk and rag on Sorenson some more.

James Storm is backstage saying that tonight it about the World Title.

Bobby Roode backstage saying that it’s great that he gets to wrestle his “best friend” for the World Title.

Robbie E and Rob Terry come to the ring and they call out Eric Young & Ronnie. They come out and Robbie rags on Ronnie telling him Jersey Shore sucks (which it does). He says that he can kick his ass anytime he wants. Ronnie says how about right now. Ronnie then spears Robbie and then Terry grabs Ronnie and Robbie whips him with a weight belt. Eric Young then gets the mic and they set up a tag match for next week. Why is TNA giving us this crap?

Ken Anderson & Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett & Bully Ray. Hardy & Anderson win by DQ when Scott Steiner gets involved and then he, Jarrett & Ray beat down Hardy & Anderson. I don’t get this. At the start of the year Anderson & Hardy were feuding and Hardy gave him a concussion and now they’re a team? TNA makes my brain spin!

They show Sting and Garrett Bischoff are backstage and Sting tells him what Eric talked to Sting about. He mentioned that he can rewrite Eric’s contract if he lets Eric have face an opponent of his pick. Sting is reluctant to, but Garrett says he’s good. This made no sense.

Matt Morgan comes out and he calls out Crimson. Crimson comes out and Morgan cuts a promo saying he has been getting tweets asking when he will face Crimson. He then says that they should give the fans their “dream match” (I’d hardly call it that) at Turning Point and Crimson says that he’s been getting the same tweets and that his undefeated streak isn’t real if he doesn’t take Morgan out. He begs Morgan to bring his A game because no one will break his streak, not even Matt Morgan. This was a decent segment.

TNA World Champion James Storm vs. Bobby Roode for the Title. The referee left the ring after “hurting his knee” and Roode gets the pin to become the new World Champion after hitting Storm with a beer bottle. This was a really good match up till the finish. This is idiotic! They spend weeks building Roode as the guy who waited for 13 years to get a World Title match and then they have the match at Bound For Glory only to have him lose because Hulk Hogan decided to change the finish at the last minute because he “thought the fans wouldn’t get behind a Canadian as World Champion!” Then on the next Impact they have Storm, Roode’s partner beat Angle for the Title in a minute and a half and then have Roode beat Storm to win the Title and he turns heal!? WHAT!? Why didn’t they put the Title on Roode at Bound For Glory like they were originally going to instead of being dumb enough to listen Hulk “I hate the internet jabroni marks so we’ll swerve them all” Hogan? I don’t care what Hogan and Eric say. This was NOT part of their “master plan”! They saw the fans reaction to Roode not winning the Title at Bound For Glory and…well you know the rest!

I thought that this was a typical TNA show. There were some decent to good matches on the show with the usual crappy booking! I liked the World Title match before they did the hokey finish. The rest of the show was kinda just there.
