11-10-11 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the November 10, 2011 episode of Impact

The show starts with TNA World Champion Bobby Roode coming out for a promo ragging on the fans and says that he the leader of the new generation of selfishness and doing what’s right in today’s World get you nowhere and he talks about how he beat James Storm last week. They show James Storm backstage and then he comes out with security trying to prevent him from brawling with Roode. Roode bails while security holds Storm back and Sting comes out and makes a Storm-Roode rematch for the Title later tonight. This was a decent opener. I thought Roode cut a good promo and Storm trying to get him was good too.

They show Eric Young & Ronnie backstage.

They show Dixie Carter backstage talking to the CEO of Bellator Fighting Championships. I have no idea what this guy is doing on the show.

Crimson vs. Pope D’Angelo Dinero. Crimson gets the pin. This was a short match. Pope got some offense in before Crimson pinned him.

Gunner promo backstage saying he will teach Garrett Bischoff a lesson about respect.

Garrett Bischoff vs. Gunner. Garrett wins by DQ when Ric Flair gets involved. This was a really short match. Garrett threw Gunner around the whole time and then Flair came in and shoved the referee. This was crap.

They show Robbie E & Rob Terry trying to get into a dressing room and some guy’s standing there and won’t let them come in. Eric Young pokes his head out the door and he & Ronnie brawl with E & Terry. This was idiotic.

They show James Storm in the locker room backstage bleeding and unconscious and medics check on him. Storm comes to and they help him up. I wasn’t too crazy about this.

Zima Ion vs. Jessie Sorensen. Sorensen gets the pin. This was a solid but short match. Afterwards Kid Kash comes out saying that he’s done it all in the 20 years he’s been in the business and that he will give Jessie the opportunity of a life time. He says there will be a for a 3 Way X Division Title match with himself, Jessie & Austin Aries and he tells Sorenson to sign contract. Sorensen & Kash then go at it and Aries and comes and then he & Kash double team Jessie.

They show Karen & Traci backstage with Gail Kim & Madison with Karen giving Gail a pep talk for her match at Turning Point with Velvet. This was crappy.

Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky & Mickie James vs. Knockouts Tag Team Champions Madison Rayne & Gail Kim for the Titles. Madison & Gail win when Gail pins Velvet. This match was ok.

The show James Storm being checked out and Sting comes in and Storm says that he can go for later.

Ronnie & TV Champion Eric Young vs. Rob Terry & Robbie E. Ronnie & Young win when Ronnie pins Robbie E. This was painful.

Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Bully Ray are backstage talking about the 6 man tag.

They show Ink Inc backstage having dinner or whatever and Mexican come in and a brawl starts. This was worthless.

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. Daniels takes out a screwdriver and RVD comes in and takes it out of Daniels’ hand. AJ gets the pin. This was a solid back and forth match. Easily the best part of the show. The Bellator CEO was on commentary. I have no idea why!

Ken Anderson, Jeff Hardy & Abyss vs. Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner & Bully Ray. Anderson, Hardy & Abyss win when Abyss pins Steiner. This was a good match too.

James Storm vs. TNA World Champion Bobby Roode for the Title. Storm comes out all bloody. He goes after Roode and then he collapses. The referee throws up the “X” sign (why do they do that in a storyline injury?) and a medic comes out and tells the referee Storm has a head injury. Roode looks like he’s all worried and says to call the ambulance. He and the ref pick Storm up and Roode asks if the match is over and the referee says he never called for the bell. Roode then rolls up Storm for the pin. AJ Styles & Frankie Kazarian then come out. AJ then challenges Roode to a Title match at Turning point and Sting makes the match. This ends the show.

I thought this week’s episode was really boring overall. There wasn’t much build for the PPV. The best parts of the show were AJ-Daniels and the 6 man tag. The rest of the show wasn’t memorable.
