10-31-11 Halloween Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 31, 2011 episode of Halloween Raw-Starring The Muppets

The show starts with The Rock on the tron saying if he and Cena should team up at Survivor Series. Rock says no and then rags on Cena. This is the usual great Rock promo. He says that he won’t team with the “Fruit Loop Troop.” Then he mentions that he got millions of tweets from fans telling to team with Cena. He mentions that he and “Team Bring It” despise Miz & R-Truth and says that he will team with Cena at Survivor Series for the fans. He then rags on Miz & Truth a bit and tells Cena that he got his wish. He mentions that he wants Cena that what he does at Survivor Series will be just a taste of what he will do to Cena at WrestleMania. He says that this is the only time they will team up and says, “If ya smell what The Rock is cookin.” This was a tremendous promo.

CM Punk vs. World Champion Mark Henry. If Punk wins he will get a WWE Title match against Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series. Before the match starts Johnny Ace comes out and mentions that if Punk beats Henry, he gets a shot at Del Rio. Alberto & Ricardo Rodriguez come out to and Del Rio has Ricardo beat on Henry. He does and because of that Mark Henry won by DQ. After the match Punk attacks Del Rio & grabs Ricardo, throws him in the ring and Henry gives him the World’s Strongest Slam. Punk chases Alberto to the back. This was lame.

Kermit & Miss Piggy come out and talk about how great it is to be on Raw and then Vickie Guerrero, Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler comes out and Vickie complains about having them on the show and Swagger says tells them to split. Piggy & Vickie then have words and Santino Marella comes out and puts over the Muppets and tells Swagger to warm up because Johnny Ace has made Santino vs. Swagger for tonight. Swagger covers Kermit’s mouth and Swagger says that he will Ziggler with him and Santino says that Dolph won’t be at ringside because he has a match with Zack Ryder. Kelly Kelly then comes out and kisses Kermit. Then heads to the ring for a Divas costume Battle Royal. This was a mixed bag segment. Kermit was funny but that was about it. The rest was hit and miss.

Divas Costume Battle Royal for a Divas Title match against Beth Phoenix. Beth is on commentary. Eve wins. This was a typical Halloween Divas in costumes bit. Afterwards Beth & Natalya get in the ring but Kelly and Alicia Fox come in to back up Eve and Beth & Natalya left.

Bunsen & Beaker segment backstage and Bunsen tells him to give Santino some kind of energy drink he made for him. Beaker runs into Christian and he dumps it on him. Sheamus then comes in and asks Christian if there’s a problem and Christian walks away. Sheamus then chats with Beaker and fixes his hair. This was idiotic.

WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston vs. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett. Cody & Barrett win when Barrett pins Bourne. This was a solid back and forth match. Afterwards Christian comes out and attacks Kofi and then Cody & Barrett attack Bourne. Sheamus then comes out and cleans house on the heals. Cody got flattened and Barrett & Christian bailed.

They show Statler and Waldorf watching the show.

Johnny Ace is texting again and Punk comes in and mentions what happened during his match and asks him what he will do about it. Ace says that Punk has a Title match if Alberto agrees to give him one. That didn’t really make a lot of sense.

They show another Brodus Clay Video package and they mention that he will be on Raw next week.

Big Show vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. Show gets the pin. This match was ok. I’m not sure why they had the WWE Champion lose cleanly. After the match CM Punk comes out, gets a mic and a water bottle. Punk then sits in the ring and pours the water on Del Rio and says that he is going to ask him something and then twist him into a pretzel with the Anaconda Vice and will not let go until Del Rio agrees to give him a Title match. Punk locks on the hold and Del Rio says he has his title match. Punk’s mic was cut; he got another won and told Alberto he will see him at Survivor Series.

Fozzy & Gonzo are backstage and Vickie, Swagger & Dolph come in Swagger twists Gonzo’s arms around him. This was pretty funny.

Animal (The Muppet) is the guest time keeper for the next match.

Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger. Beaker came out and gave Santino the energy drink. He spits it in Swagger’s face and gets the pin. This was ok too.

Zack Ryder vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Ryder gets the pin. This was a solid back and forth match. I’m not sure why they have Ryder beat Dolph in Non Title matches and have him lose when it is for the U.S. Title.

They recap the Triple H-Kevin Nash dreck. They then mention that HHH has concussion and fractured vertebrae. They then mention that Johnny Ace has signed Kevin Nash to a contract and he will be on Raw next week. Yay.

Michael Cole is standing on the announce table ragging on JR AGAIN saying that he backed out of Cole’s challenge because of medical issues. This sucked.

Back to Statler & Waldorf saying the only thing worse than listening to Michael Cole is nothing.

Miss Piggy is backstage with John Morrison and she asks him out. He says he has plans but he has a friend who is free. Hornswoggle comes with a Miss Piggy tattoo on his ankle and tries to kiss her but she whacks him. Kermit then comes in and asks Hornswoggle if he is ok and then Cody Rhodes comes in and bags Kermit. That was funny.

Statler & Waldorf talk about Cena vs. Miz. This was more Muppet goofiness.

John Cena vs. The Miz. Cena wins by submission. This was good match. A “Fan” in a scream costume went after Cena and Miz got the upper hand for a bit. After the match the guy comes in the ring and Cena gives him an AA. He then takes the mask off and reveals him to be R-Truth. Cena poses to end the show.

I thought this show was a mixed bag overall. I’m not really a Muppet guy, so I wasn’t into those segments too much. Kermit had some funny bits and the backstage bit with Fozzy & Gonzo was funny. The rest of the show had its ups and downs. The Rock’s promo was easily the best part of the show.

10-28-11 Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 28, 2011 episode of Smackdown

The show starts with Teddy Long coming out to talk about the World Title situation due to Big Show’s and Mark Henry’s injuries from Vengeance. He says that they’re both in the building tonight. Christian then comes out and says that deserves to be World Champion. CM Punk then comes out and he and Christian go back and forth on the mic for a bit and then Punk tells him to quit his complaining. Christian then asks why Punk is there and Long says that he invited some of the Raw talent to be on Smackdown to make it a “super show”. Punk then offers to face Christian and Long made the match. This was a good opening segment. Punk cut his usual great promo and Christian’s was really good too.

WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne vs. R-Truth & The Miz. Truth & Miz win when Truth pins Kofi. This was really good back and forth match. After the match Miz & Truth get mics and Truth mentions how the just beat the Tag Champs and that they beat HHH & CM Punk at the PPV. He also mentions how they destroyed Zack Ryder and “beat the wheels off of John Cena.” Miz then says that they beat Cena so that he to get The Rock to with him to face them at Survivor Series. Truth says that Cena picked someone who dislikes him more than they do and Miz says that if Rock accepts Cena’s offer and they don’t destroy each other before Survivor Series then they will. Both guys cut good promos.

They show Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, Santino Marella and a few other guys in the back watching the Bret-Michaels DVD. Daniel talks about how Shawn trained him and then Tyson Kidd comes in and they argue over who was better Bret or Shawn. Santino then says that they should have a match and Kidd says he will see Daniel out there. This was a decent to plug the DVD.

Teddy Long is backstage with Hornswoggle and he has on Zack Ryder gear. Vickie, Swagger & Dolph show up and Vickie says that what happened to Ryder is because Ziggler had 2 matches at Vengeance. Ziggler says that he stole the show and that Teddy will have to step up his game the next he tries to mess with him. Teddy says that he wasn’t messing with him and he’s not messing with him now about tonight’s match as Ziggler face Randy Orton and Jack Swagger is banned from ringside. They heals walk off and then Aksana returns and hits on Teddy Long again.

They show a Wade Barrett promo saying that his uprising will continue tonight.

Trent Baretta vs. Wade Barrett. Barrett gets the pin. This was pretty much a squash.

Randy Orton vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Orton gets the pin. So Orton has now beaten BOTH the Intercontinental & U.S Champions in Non Title Matches. That shows how much meaning those titles have. Practically zero! This was a tremendous match however! Cody Rhodes was also on commentary.

Matt Striker interviews Hunico backstage and he talks about how Sin Cara took his mask and that it is payback time. I thought this was a decent Hunico promo.

They show another Brodus Clay video package with him saying that he is the beginning and the end. This was out together really well.

Daniel Bryan vs. Tyson Kidd. Bryan wins by submission. This was a really good back and forth but too short. They should really let these guys go for 10 or 15 minutes and show the fans how great they are.

Michael Cole cuts a promo saying that Jim Ross has accepted his challenge for Raw and he shows the same pics that were shown Monday. (Can’t wait to see that, not). Why do they do this to JR?

Big Show then comes out and talks about how the ring imploded at Vengeance and he put over Henry as being a monster. He then says that Teddy Long has guaranteed Show that will get a rematch against Mark Henry For the World Title. Mark then comes out and says he doesn’t care who Big Show talks to. He is not getting a rematch and is done with him. Henry then he will put his foot in Big Show’s mouth to shut him up. Show takes his jacket and Henry hints at getting in the ring but then he walks to the ramp and holds up the World Title. This was a good segment too. I thought both guys cut good promos.

CM Punk vs. Christian. Punk gets the pin. This was a really good back and forth match too. Del Rio interfered and Sheamus came out at the end and that distracted Christian. I don’t get why they have the guy’s music hit before they come and then have one of the guys in the match get distracted by it before whoever it is comes out. Other than that I thought this was a fun match.

I liked the show on the whole. There were some good matches on here. The opening segment was entertaining, Orton and Ziggler had a great match and so did Punk and Christian. The Big Show-Mark Henry segment was good too and the Daniel Bryan-Tyson Kidd match was also despite the short amount of time they had. I thought overall this was a good show.

10-27-11 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 27, 2011 episode of Impact

The show starts with the new TNA World Champion James Storm coming to the ring with a new theme entrance and tron video. He talks about how he fought 15 years to become World Champion after deciding to become a wrestler when he watched WrestleMania 3 with his father. He then mentions that he would not be here without the fans and he asks the rest of Fortune to come to the ring. They come out and Storm thanks them all, especially Roode and he says that they’re the reason that the company is starting to turn around. Samoa Joe comes to the ring and mentions that Roode lost his chance at becoming World Champion at BFG. Storm then tells Joe that his window of opportunity closed a long time ago and that he hasn’t done anything to earn a title match. Sting then comes out and announces Bobby Roode vs. Samoa Joe for tonight and the winner will face James Storm for the World Title next week. This was a good opening segment and WAY shorter than last week’s. I thought they all cut good promos.

Christopher Daniels is backstage saying he never quit and that AJ had an audio of Daniels’ voice and he says he will show how good he is when he faces “Bob Van Dam.”

Rob Van Dam vs. Christopher Daniels. RVD wins by DQ when Daniels hits him with a tool box. AJ Styles was on commentary. After the match Daniels takes a screwdriver out of the tool box and AJ left announce table and ran Daniels off. This was a good back and forth match.

Gail Kim, Madison Rayne, Traci Brooks & Karen Jarrett come out and Gail talks about how she left “the other company” and that she is better than the other knockouts and she brags about giving Velvet Sky a concussion last week. Karen mentions that as a returning gift, she has given her a Knockouts Title match against Velvet Sky at Turning Point. Tara then comes out for their match.

Tara vs. Gail Kim. Gail gets the pin. This was a solid match. The promo from Kim was good too.

Jeff Hardy backstage saying he is officially back and his first match back will be with Bully Ray and tonight is a test to see if he can still go.

Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff are backstage and they walk by Robbie E and blow off his asking for a TV Title match (even though he has that next). Flair tells Eric to give his son “tough love.” Boring!

TV Champion Eric Young vs. Robbie E. Young gets the pin. This was a real short match. After the match Robbie E & Rob Terry attack Young. Young then gets the mic and says that he is not the brightest decision maker, but that in Macon, GA next week Robbie E & Rob Terry should watch their backs because Ronnie from Jersey Shore will be at Young’s side. Oh joy. This was idiotic!

Christopher Daniels is backstage on his cell phone and asks for a title match. Kazarian comes and tells him the stuff with him and AJ has to end. Daniels says that they’ll work it out.

Bully Ray promo backstage talking about how he and Jeff Hardy made history and that his first night back could be his last.

Garrett Bischoff promo backstage saying that his dad had him brainwashed. They show a video package of him refereeing and “missing” spots. Whatever! This was a waste!

Eric Bischoff comes to the ring and tells his son Garrett to come out. He comes out and Eric tells him about the opportunities that Garrett has gotten from being brought up in the wrestling business that most wrestlers don’t get. Eric brings up how he was backstage with him in the AWA and he tells Garrett to apologize to him by the end of the night. Garrett tries to speak but Eric doesn’t let him and calls his son a punk and a prick. This was painful! Why are we being subjected to a Battle of the Bischoffs? NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THIS!

Ric Flair is backstage saying Garrett is an ungrateful kid living in his dad’s shadow and he’s going to find him and teach him about respect.

Ric Flair is backstage with Garrett Bischoff telling him that he should apologize to his dad. This is stupid!

Jeff Jarrett comes to the ring and rants about Jeff Hardy and mentions that what the video package left out something that the fans and even Jeff Hardy might not remember (I remember). He mentions how Hardy no showed a Turning Point PPV back in 2006. Hardy then comes to the ring and they go at it and security breaks it up. Bully Ray comes out and attacks Hardy leading to the next match.

Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray. Jeff gets the pin. After the match Christie Hemme interviews Hardy at ringside. Hardy welcomes the fans back into his life and then Jeff Jarrett ran in through the crowd and went after Hardy. Ray tells Jarrett to throw Hardy back in the ring. Jarrett gets a table and they go to super bomb Hardy but Ken Anderson’s music hits and he comes out to make the save for Hardy. Why does the guy’s music have to hit before he comes out? This was a good match and the post match attack was decent.

Bobby Roode promo backstage saying that tonight he has another chance for a title match if he can beat Samoa Joe. Good promo.

Bobby Roode (who also has a new theme and tron) vs. Samoa Joe for a TNA World Title match. Roode gets the pin. This was a good back and forth match. After the match James Storm comes out on the stage and he and Roode have a stare down and then hold up their hands doing the Fortune symbol. They really rushed the Storm-Roode match.

Eric Bischoff is backstage saying that he is looking forward to giving his son some “tough love.” I’m tired of this guy!

Eric Bischoff comes back out (yay) and tells Garrett to come to the ring again and asks for an apology. Garrett comes back out and refuses. Ric Flair then comes out and gets in Garrett’s face and asks what he thinks he’s doing and he tells Garrett to apologize. Garrett shoves Flair and then Flair attacks him. Eric then gives his son a low blow and he and Flair double team Garrett and Flair stomps on him in the corner. Flair & Eric then hug. This makes no sense. Not that want to see him, but where was Hulk Hogan to even the odds? Where was Sting? How come he didn’t bother coming out?

I thought on the whole that this show was a mixed bag. There were some good matches on the show but the booking made no sense. Typical TNA. The Roode-Joe match was good and so was Hardy-Ray. I also liked the opening segment with Fortune & Samoa Joe. The rest of the show was hit and miss.

10-24-11 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 24, 2011 episode of Raw

The show starts with HHH coming to the ring and the fans chant his name. He says that Killer Kowalski told that he can either make friends or make money. He mentions that he considers himself a lucky in that he made both. He says that he had guys that he thought he could count on like Shawn Michaels, Sean Waltman and then he mentions Kevin Nash. He then talks about how he thought Kevin Nash was one of those friends and mentions last night at Vengeance when Nash tried to break his neck. He then says that Nash broke his heart and that he wants to take that out on Nash. He then says that he knows Nash is in the building and wants him to come to the ring to go at it. Johnny Ace then comes out and says that Nash is at home watching Raw. HHH tells him to shut up and Ace says these people want action. HHH says he’s not in the mood for this and tells him not to come in the ring. He mentions that he is still COO and that Ace still answers to him and Ace’s assignment for tonight is to find Nash and offer him a contract that he can’t refuse and if he doesn’t he will go out and find him himself, get arrested and embarrass the company for what he does. He walks up the ramp and Ace says that HHH is being unreasonable. Nash then hits him from behind with a sledge hammer and Ace asks what he’s doing there and tells him to go. Security comes out and Nash leaves while Ace checks on HHH. Referees and security help HHH up and then they show Nash walking backstage. They show the replay and then they show HHH being helped in the back by the referees and he collapses. This was typical WWE-HHH booking. I’m getting really tired of seeing him dominate the shows when he doesn’t need to. I’m also sick of Kevin Nash & Johnny “No Charisma” Ace.

Back to the show and HHH is about to be wheeled into an ambulance and Nash comes in and tells the medics to put him down. Nash then takes HHH off the stretcher. Michael Hayes calls for security and Nash hits HHH in the head with the sledge hammer. Micheal Heyes then has security come in and they and Nash left. The medics put HHH back on the stretcher and they ask if he can hear them and they wheeled him into the ambulance. This entire feud has been completely idiotic!

Back to the show and they show the ambulance leaving the arena. They show the replay of the attack a THIRD time! This is crap. Why are they replaying what we just watched less then 5 minutes ago?

Randy Orton & Sheamus vs. Christian & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Orton & Sheamus win when Sheamus pins Cody. This was a good back and forth match, but I’m not really sure why this match took place. Last night at Vengeance Orton beat Cody & Sheamus beat Christian. Both faces won so why do we have this match and why is it the night AFTER the PPV?

Johnny Ace is on his cell phone with Stephanie saying HHH is doing ok and Stephanie accuses him of being behind it. David Otunga walks in and says that Stephanie is upset. John Cena then comes in and wants a match against Miz & Truth. Ace says that tonight it will be Cena & a partner of Ace’s choosing vs. Miz & Truth. This was idiotic too. Cena rags on Otunga and makes Fresh Prince references and then he rambles before telling Johnny Ace that he wanted a match with Miz & Truth. I’m tired of this!

Santino Marella vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Dolph gets the pin. This was a squash. After the match Swagger attacks Santino and puts him in the Ankle Lock and then Mason Ryan comes out and goes after Dolph & Swagger. It looks like they’re going to have Mason vs. Dolph. WHY?

The Bellas are backstage and Zack Ryder comes in all thrilled because Johnny Ace picked him to be Cena’s partner.

Alberto Del Rio comes to the ring for his victory speech. He starts out by saying that at the end of last night he was the last man standing with the WWE Title and Cena was lying on the floor. He says that he proved that he is the better man and that he is done with Cena and is moving on to new challengers. He then says that there is no one better than he is and that the fans better get used to him being WWE Champion for a long time. CM Punk then comes out says that maybe Del Rio got hit in the head a little too hard and he mentions that he’s beating Del Rio before and he beat him a month ago. He then mentions that he never got his singles rematch for the Title. Del Rio says that he will defend the Title against a worthy opponent but Punk is not because he lost his match last night. He then says to come and see him after he gets a win and tells Punk that he is at the back of the line. The fans chant loudly for Punk. Punk then says that maybe he doesn’t deserve a Title match and is at the back of the line and that if Del Rio isn’t willing to give him a Title match he will put Del Rio to sleep anyway. Johnny Ace then comes back out and says that nothing is going to happen on his watch. He says that at Survivor Series it will be Punk vs. Del Rio for the WWE Title. Punk then asks if Ricardo will be the referee or if Johnny Ace will be the ring announcer. Johnny Ace says Punk has to do something for him and Punk rags on him. Ace then tells Punk to tell the fans that he respects him. Punk then mentions that Ace doesn’t him and that respect is earned. He then mentions that WWE is no better with him in charge. Ace tells him to say he respects him. Punk sarcastically says, “I respect you, Funk Man. That was funny. Ace tells him that he has one more chance. Punk then says that he respects the fact that someone with so little has done so much. Punk asks if that’s good for him, Ace it isn’t and that Punk doesn’t get a Title match. Punk then says that he wants Ace to think about this. He then attacks Del Rio and had him up for the GTS but Ricardo pulled him off and Punk then gave Ricardo the GTS. This was a mixed bag segment. Punk’s promo was great as always, Del Rio’s was good too and Johnny Ace’s promo was typical Johnny Ace lousy.

Alicia Fox vs. Natalya. Beth Phoenix is on commentary. Alicia gets the pin. They show Kelly & Eve watching on a monitor backstage. After the match Natalya attacks Alicia but she manages to escape. This was your typical Divas match but with Fox getting the upset win. I guess Alicia is the next challenger for the Divas Title. I have nothin to say about that.

John Morrison vs. Wade Barrett. Barrett gets the pin. This was a good back and forth match. Morrison again got some good offense in before Barrett got the win.

Michael Cole takes his headset off and gets the mic saying that Jim Ross has been on twitter talking about how he made Cole tap last week. Cole then rags on JR and has idiotic doctored pictures of JR. Cole then challenges him to the “Michael Cole” challenge next week. He then says that if JR beats he can have his seat back and Cole will quit. This was really idiotic! Why does Vince feel the need to humiliate JR all the time!? They have this “Anti-bullying” campaign and that’s what Vince does is bully JR. Talk about your double standard!

Josh Mathews interviews Zack Ryder backstage about teaming with Cena. Ryder says that they go way back and Truth & Miz come in and attack him.

Miz & R-Truth then come out and Miz says that HHH tried to contain the revolution that they started when he “canned” them and Truth says that HHH got what he deserved. Miz says that they stood up to the faces from the conspiracy and that Ryder & HHH found that out first hand. Truth then says they’re not done yet and calls Ryder a joke of a tag team partner. He then says that nothing will save Cena. Miz says that Cena say will the catchphrases he wants but he “can’t rise above this.” Truth says that that’s the Truth and Miz says that it’s awesome.

Justin Roberts announces that Johnny Ace has made this a handicap match.

John Cena vs. The Miz & R-Truth. Cena wins by DQ when Truth hits him with a water bottle. Miz & Truth continue to double team Cena. Miz gives him the Skull Crushing Finale, picks him and Truth gives him his finisher. They then get chairs and Johnny Ace comes out and says that he won’t stand for anymore chaos and that they disrespected him just like Punk. He then tells them to get out and has the referees escort them out, but then Ace says that he will give them a tag match and he says that Miz & Truth will face Cena and a partner of Cena’s choice. Cena gets the mic and says everything was a setup and then realizes that he can pick whoever he wants. Cena says that if he is going to defeat Miz & Truth his partner will have to be somebody who will bring it. He then picks The Rock to be his partner. That doesn’t really make sense to have them team since they will be facing each other at WrestleMania. This was a mixed bag too. The match was ok and the post match attack and Johnny Ace was his usual boring self. It looks like Rock & Cena vs. Miz & Truth at Survivor Series instead of a traditional 10 man tag elimination match, but hopefully they’ll turn it into that.

I thought that this show was weak on the whole. I’m beyond tired of the HHH-Nash-Johnny Ace nonsense! The tag match was good and the rest was from ok to idiotic.

10-21-11 Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 21, 2011 episode of Smackdown

Alberto Del Rio cuts a promo and mentions that he will Cena in a Last Man Standing Match at Vengeance and that he was scheduled to face Big Show tonight but that will not happen because of Cena attacking him on Raw. They show the clip. He says that it was his dream to compete in Mexico for all the fans and that Cena robbed him and the fans of that opportunity. He then says he will be walking into Vengeance as Champion and he will also walk out the Champion. Teddy Long comes out and says that Alberto has been medically cleared to wrestle and tells him he will have to opportunity to do so in his home as he faces Big Show tonight. Mark Henry then comes to the ring while Del Rio is still in there. This was a good opening promo.

John Morrison vs. Mark Henry. Henry gets the pin. This was a decent match. Morrison got a good amount of offense in before Henry got him with the World’s Strongest Slam.

Vickie Guerrero & Christian are in Teddy Long’s office and Vickie offers to manage him. Teddy Long mentions that at Vengeance Sheamus will face Christian & Zack Ryder will challenge Dolph Ziggler for the U.S. Title.

They was pre taped Wade Barrett promo and he mentioned how when he led his stables the other members were leeches and that Barrett uprising starts tonight.

Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett. Barrett gets the pin. This was solid back and forth match. I don’t know why they have Daniel Bryan losing since he is the Money In The Bank winner.

In a “WWE.com Exclusive” they show Vickie Guerrero from “last week” on her phone congratulating Johnny Ace on being the GM and thanks him for giving Dolph & Swagger a Tag Title match at Vengeance. Then the cameraman asks who she was talking to, she tells him it was Ace and the guy mentions that his job as GM is only temporary and he asks Vickie who she thinks would be a good GM. She of course picks herself

Sheamus & Zack Ryder vs. Christian & U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Sheamus & Ryder win when Sheamus pins Ziggler. This was decent back and forth match.

In a “WWE.com Exclusive” they show Cody Rhodes backstage saying that WWE won’t always be Cena and Orton and he mentions how he bagged his mentor and then tells the cameraman that that is all he getting. He then has the bagger place a bag over the cameraman’s head.

Back from commercial and they show that during the break Christian snuck back out and speared Sheamus on the stage.

Cody Rhodes comes out with his baggers and talks about his match with Randy Orton at Vengeance. He talks about how Orton abused him when they formed Legacy and that now he is a Champion and Orton is a disgrace. He then calls out Orton. Orton comes out and says that Cody cost him a shot at the World Title twice and that having a bag placed over his head wasn’t humiliating and that he is still the same and getting hit the ring bell will be nothing compared to what he will do to him at Vengeance. Orton then says they should have a little preview of Sunday. While trying to go after Cody 2 baggers try to stop him and Orton punches them and that allows Cody to get the upper hand and throw Orton into the ring post. He throws Orton in the ring and Orton makes a comeback and back body drops Cody over the top rope. He then gives a bagger a DDT and then goes back after Cody He throws Cody back in the ring and another bagger grabs his foot and Orton stomps his head into the steel steps. Cody managed to escape and Orton gives a third bagger the RKO.

In a “WWE.com Exclusive” they show interviews with the 2 Sin Caras and each one says that they’re glad to be back in Mexico and they both say that they are the real one.

Blue Sin Cara vs. Black Sin Cara in Mask vs. Mask Match. Blue Cara wins by submission. This was a good back and forth match. After the match Blue Cara pulls Black Cara’s mask off and then dives onto him on the outside.

They showed the Brodus Clay video package.

Triple H comes out and introduces Mil Mascaras and announces that he will be inducted into the 2012 Hall of Fame. (This was not on the show)

Beth Phoenix & Natalya are in the ring and Beth mentions that they’re not jealous of the other Divas and aren’t angry at them but they are angry at the fans because that is what they want from the Divas. They show clips of Natalya locking in the submission hold on Kelly & Alicia Fox. Natalya then says that there is nothing more beautiful then watching the other Divas beg for mercy. Beth then talks defending the Divas Title against Eve at Vengeance saying that will be her turn to cry. Eve comes out and says that she used to think Natalya & eth were beautiful, but they have shown how ugly they are inside. She mentions that she isn’t a Barbie doll and that there is nothing they can do to break her. They rag on Eve for a bit and then Eve shoves Beth to the mat.

Big Show vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. Big Show wins by DQ when Ricardo got involved by jumping onto Big Show. After the match Show punched Ricardo & Alberto. Them Mark Henry came out Big Show punched him out too. Big Show then stands triumphant and walks up the ramp to end the show.

I thought that this was a decent show on the whole. Del Rio’s opening promo was good as was the battle of the Sin Caras. They did a decent in the final hype for the Vengeance PPV Sunday.

10-20-11 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 20, 2011 episode of Impact

The show starts with Sting coming to the ring and he mentions that he promised 2 things when Hogan and Bischoff took control of TNA. First was to get the company back in Dixie Carter’s hands and the second was to bring back the “real” Hulk Hogan. He mentions that there was one defining moment at Bound For Glory and that there was someone who decided to do the right thing (which behind the scenes he’s NOT) and he wants him to come to the ring. Hulk Hogan comes out and gets a “welcome back” chant from the fans (UGH). Hulk mentions that for the last year he had been in a bad place and that Bischoff helped through a lot. He then mentions that that he was following was Bischoff was doing (They’re BOTH ragging on the“marks” right now as they like to say, BROTHER!). He then says that Bischoff made some bad decisions and mentions how he was the “follower” when he should have been a leader. Hogan then thanks Sting for bringing back the old Hulk Hogan. Hogan then says “What’s ya gonna do when Hulk Hogan and The Stinger come running after you.” This is crazy! Hogan leaves and Sting asks Dixie Carter to come to the ring. Dixie comes out and they go to commercial. Back to the show, Sting tells Dixie that her being back in charge doesn’t change what happened over the past year and a half. He then says that Dixie gave him a home to come to and that he loves TNA (Good for him, cause a lot of people don’t. That’s for sure!) He also tells Dixie that now that she is back in charge there is no room for error. Dixie then tells Sting that he was right all along and she apologizes to him and says that this won’t happen again (Having the company “taken” from her.) She then says that she wants Sting to be in charge of the “day to day operations” for Impact. (So does that make Sting the new COO?) Kurt Angle then comes out and it’s time for another commercial. Back to the show, Angle says that there is not only one “super hero” in the ring, but there are 2. Those of course being Sting and Dixie Carter. He then says that he wonders if all this was for him or for Bobby Roode (Roode was supposed to win the Title but Hogan decided to change that at the last minute because he felt that the fans wouldn’t get behind a Canadian as World Champion, so he says.) Angle says that he realizes that Dixie is in charge and that Sting is running the Impact Zone but that he will be running things since he is the World Champion. Huh? He then says that he made Roode look like a loser at Bound For Glory and that he is the better man. Bobby Roode then comes out and he calls Angle pathetic (actually Hogan and Bischoff are) and that he screwed him on Sunday by holding the ropes to get the win. Roode then says what on Sunday was b.s. Sting then suggests that Roode and Angle should have a rematch for the World Title tonight. Angle then tells Sting that the match can’t happen because the contract that he and Roode signed for Bound For Glory that Hogan and Bischoff added and that was that Roode could only wrestle Angle once. Angle mentions that Roode is the real deal but he screwed him at the PPV. He then mentions James Storm’s catch phrase and the Beer Money music then plays and James Storm comes out and we go a THIRD commercial. Back to the show. Storm introduces himself to Angle and then says that the BFG contract never said that Storm can’t have a World Title Match against Angle. Storm then mentions that at the PPV Angle screwed the fans, TNA/Impact Wrestling and Bobby Roode. He then says that the fans will see a World Title match tonight even if it can’t be Roode vs. Angle and Sting then says that James Storm will challenge Kurt Angle for the World Title tonight. Roode then says “Sorry about your damn luck” to Angle. Nothing says wrestling matters like having over a half hour of talking! This segment went WAY TOO LONG!

Backstage crap with Bischoff asks if he can meet him in the ring later tonight. The other Immortal guys were Bischoff. This was dumb.

Knockouts Tag Team Champions Brooke Tessmacher & Tara vs. Winter & Angelina Love for the Titles. Tessmacher & Tara retain when Tessmacher pins Winter. This was really short! This was the first match on the show and they it at !

The Jarretts come to the ring and Jeff calls out Jeff Hardy so they finish what they started Sunday. Jeff Hardy comes to the ring and Jarrett mentions that Victory Road was not the first time that Hardy messed up and screwed over the company and he reminds him about a PPV he no showed a few years back (Actually there were 2. One was supposed to be him vs. Raven at the first Hard Justice and he was replaced by Sean Waltman and there was another one, I believe the 2005 Turning point.). Anyway back to the coverage. Jarrett then gives Hardy 2 choices. He can either drop the mic and walk away and never be heard from again or he can face the TNA Founder. Hardy mentions that the fans want to see him and that Jarrett is the only one who is complaining and that Jarrett can’t stand the reaction that Hardy gets. They then start to brawl and security and referees come out to try to break it up a few times, but they get lose and continue going at it and some agents come out to break it up. While they try to get Jarrett out of the ring Al Snow and D’Lo Brown argue for some reason and when that happens Hardy sneaks back in and goes after Jarrett. The brawl continues and eventually Jarrett kicks Hardy in the groin and then heads for the back. This segment was decent before the security guys came out. I thought both guys cut good promos. I have no idea why they had Al Snow & D’Lo argue and each one telling the other to get Hardy and Jarrett out of the ring. That made no sense.

Kurt Angle promo backstage saying he will whip Storm’s ass tonight and that Sting can’t put one over on him.

Eric Young is backstage and Robbie E comes in with Rob Terry and Robbie says the TV Title belongs to him. Young says that he is in charge of TV since he is the TV Champion and other nonsense and mentions that Ronnie from Jersey Shore will be with him. This was idiotic.

Gunner comes to the ring and talks about what happened last Thursday when Immortal attacked Abyss and Gunner calls him out for their match.

Abyss vs. Gunner. Abyss wins by count out when Gunner bails. This wasn’t much. Abyss beat the snot out of Gunner the whole time.

Velvet Sky backstage saying that she proved everyone wrong who said that she wasn’t good enough to be Knockouts Champion and she thanks the fans for being there. This was a good short promo.

Immortal segment backstage and Gunner comes in all frantic over Abyss attacking him and Bischoff and Flair tell him to get a grip and they will take care of Hulk first.

The new Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky comes to the ring and talks about what it means for her to finally be Knockouts Champion. She mentioned that being bullied when she was a kid. The fans chant “You deserve it” about her being Knockouts Champion throughout this segment. Karen Jarrett then comes to the ring with Traci Brooks. Karen says that she was going to fire both of them but that would be way to easy. She rags on Traci again and she has security get Traci out of the ring. She then tells Velvet that she wanted to strip her of the Title but she has something else in mind. Karen continues to rag on Velvet and then she brings out Madison Rayne. While Madison stands outside the ring and Velvet is watching her, Gail Kim comes out through the crowd and attacks Velvet and Madison and Kim double team her. Gail, Madison & Karen then stand over Velvet. This was a decent segment. Velvet cut a real good emotional promo and Karen was good at being the really obnoxious heal. Gail Kim returning was ok but not really mind blowing or anything.

They show still shots of Hogan helping out Sting after their match at Bound For Glory.

Eric Bischoff comes to the ring with Bully Ray, Gunner & Scott Steiner. Bischoff mentions that his son is an ingrate and that he will settle the issues with his son “in his own way” (Spoiler note: Eric calls out his son to the ring at the next show.) and says that he is not done dealing with Garrett. Eric then says that he expected Hulk would come to the ring and explain what happened at the PPV to his face. Hulk Hogan then comes out and he says that Garrett is more man than Eric could ever be. The Immortal guys come in the ring but Sting comes out through the crowd with baseball bats. Sting gives a bat to Hogan and Immortal bails. As Eric heads up the ramp Garrett is standing behind him and Eric rags on him and Garrett punches him. I wasn’t too fond of this segment. There’s been WAY too much talking on this show!

They show James Storm backstage doubting if he deserves a World Title match. Bobby Roode gives him a pep talk and he tells Storm that this is what he has worked his whole career for to become the World Champion. This was a good backstage segment.

James Storm vs. TNA World Champion Kurt Angle for the Title. Storm gets the pin to win the Title. The match was short with Angle punching Storm and the referee breaks it up and while Angle argues with the referee Storm hits Angle with a Super Kick for the pin. After the match Bobby Roode comes out to celebrate with Storm goes into the crowd to celebrate with the fans. Kazarian & AJ Styles also come out with some beer and they celebrate in the ring. Storm then got the mic and said that he was honored to be the new World Champion. He then hands the Title to Bobby Roode and Roode tells Storm that he appreciates Storm giving him the Title but the fans are right that Storm deserves the Title. Roode straps the Title around Storm’s waist and they raise their arms to end the show. This was a good moment and it was cool to see James Storm win the Title but they still should have had Bobby Roode become Champion at Bound For Glory.

I thought that overall there was WAY TOO MUCH talking on this show and NOT a lot of wrestling. The bell to bell action felt like it was less than 10 minutes. The opening segment went ultra long and got really tiresome! The rest of the show was a mixed bag but I liked the closing bit with Storm winning the Title.

10-17-11 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 17, 2011 episode of Raw

The show starts with Johnny Ace coming to the ring and they recap last week’s dreadful angle of HHH being replaced. Ace then mentions that Rey Mysterio will be returning but will be returning to San Diego to see his doctor about rehab. Ace then rambles on that he won’t let down the board of directors or the fans and says that he made a mistake last week by “firing” JR and that he got a lot of negative feedback on twitter. He said that he listened to what the fans had to say and he welcomes JR back to Raw. JR comes out for commentary but Ace tells him to come in the ring for a public apology and hugs JR. He then says that he shouldn’t have fired him last week and then says that JR won’t be doing commentary. He then mentions that something happed during commercial last week after JR left. The show Michael Cole in the ring with Alberto & Ricardo ragging on him. Ace says JR and Michael Cole will settle their differences tonight. He then announces John Cena & Jim Ross vs. Alberto Del Rio & Michael Cole. JR & Cole have a stare down and Cole stands up on the announce table taunting JR. This was a weak segment.

Randy Orton, John Morrison & Sheamus vs. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Christian & World Champion Mark Henry. Cody, Henry & Christian win. Orton & Cody go at it on the floor and Orton chases him to the back. Morrison tries to tag Sheamus but Christian pulls Sheamus off the apron and they brawl into the crowd. Henry then pins Morrison for the 3 count. This was a solid match.

They show another Brodus Clay video package. This was good like the others.

Johnny Ace is his office on his cell phone asking if he looked good. The Bellas then come in and say they wanted to make sure he hasn’t forgotten how important they are to Raw. They haven’t meant anything! Ace then gets back on his phone and Ricardo Rodriguez & Alberto Del Rio come in and Del Rio complains about having to team with Michael Cole. Ace then says that the winner of tonight’s match will get to pick the stipulation for the Cena-Del Rio WWE Title match at Vengeance. This was a weak segment too. Del Rio’s promo was good, but the rest, not so much.

Eve Torres vs. Natalya. Eve gets the pin. After the match Beth goes after Eve but Kelly pulls Eve out. This was decent match.

CM Punk vs. The Miz. Miz says that he knows Punk is sweating because they gave him a beat down at the cell PPV. He then asks him what hurts more, that he won’t be getting a WWE Title for a while or them being able to get Triple H out as COO. Truth then says that at Vengeance, that’s just what’s gonna get got. Triple H’s music plays and he comes out to even the odds. HHH chases Truth up the ramp and Johnny Ace comes out and has the match stopped and tells HHH he has to split because of immigration problems. What is this? Truth taunts Triple H on the way out and HHH punches him. Back from commercial and they show HHH and Ace during the break and Ace tells HHH that he has the wrong paper work. He then gets escorted out of the arena to sort out this crap. Ace & David Otunga watched as HHH left. I’m really sick of this storyline! The Punk-Miz match continues. Punk gets the pin. After the match Miz & Truth double team Punk and referees come out and they surrender and head for the back. Truth then goes back in the ring and lays out Punk and then Miz gives Punk the Skull Crushing Finale. The match was good but it was surrounded by all the idiotic booking.

Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero come out and Vickie comes out in a Mexican dress. She then gets on the mic and does her heal bit and says that Johnny Ace has agreed to have Dolph & Swagger challenge Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne for the Tag Titles at Vengeance. Dolph says that the fans wish they could leave Mexico and move on to the greatest country which he is champion of. He then tells the fans that they will never make it but they get to see them in action. Swagger then asks the fans to rise as he sings the American National Anthem. Swagger begins to sing and the fans boo him and he says that the fans made him lose his place. He was going to start over but Zack Ryder came out.

Zack Ryder vs. Jack Swagger. Ryder gets the quick pin. After the match they go to double team Ryder but Mason Ryan comes out and the heals are about to walk up the ramp but Mason Ryan tells Dolph that they have a match next.

Mason Ryan vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Dolph wins by DQ when Mason punches him in the corner. Mason then clotheslines Swagger out of the ring and slams Dolph.

Jim Ross is in the dressing room and John Cena comes in and Ross says that the last thing he wants is to be in a match and that he doesn’t want to mess things up for him. Cena then tells Ross that he is a Hall of Famer and the greatest announcer ever. He also says that Del Rio never beat Cena and he won’t tonight. JR then says he looks forward to beating the crap out of Michael Cole. Cole then takes the mic and rags on JR again and says that he might pin Cena and he that the fans have to cheer him because his wife is Mexican. He then heads to the back. This was typical Michael Cole here.

Josh Mathews takes Cole’s place on commentary. I wish to God he was the regular announcer.

John Cena & Jim Ross vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio & Michael Cole. Cena & Ross win when Ross makes Cole tap. After the match Alberto yanks Cena out of the ring but Cena gives him the AA. He then takes the mic and starts to count Alberto out and then he takes him down again. He then gets the steal steps and rams Del Rio in the kisser and he counts Alberto out. Cena then says that their match at Vengeance will be a Last Man Standing match and that Vengeance will be his. This was ok for what it was.

While this was no where near as bad as last week’s Raw I thought that on the whole this show was kinda weak. The HHH-Johnny Ace storyline is WAY beyond idiotic and painful. The rest of the show was felt like it was mostly filler. The 6 man that turned into a tag match and then a singles match with Henry getting the pin Morrison was good but it had the whole HHH-Johnny “No Charisma “ Ace surrounding it. On the whole this was a weak show and really didn’t do much for hyping the Vengeance PPV except for Cena at the end.

10-14-11 Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 14, 2011 episode of Smackdown

The show starts with Johnny Ace & Teddy Long announcing a 41 man Battle Royal with the winner getting to challenge the Champions of his choosing tonight. It came down to Orton & Miz and they were both on the apron and Orton gave Miz an RKO and they both hit the floor, but both Miz’s feet hit first so Orton won. Afterwards Josh Matthews interviewed Orton asking who he would face and Orton said he will face Mark Henry and not only will Vengeance be his but will take back the World Title. This was good stuff. I usually enjoy Battle Royals and I thought Orton cut a good promo afterwards.

Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez are backstage leaving the building and Teddy Long comes in and tells him that he will be facing Sheamus tonight.

Kelly Kelly vs. Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. Phoenix gets the pin. This was a solid match. I don’t know why Kelly was back to being all smiles here.

The Blue Sin Cara’s music played but he didn’t come out because the Black Sin Cara attacked him backstage and pulled his mask off. Black Sin Cara holds the mask and then takes his off too, threw down the black and put on the blue one. I thought this was a good backstage attack, but I’m not sure why Black Sin Cara took the blue mask.

Justin Gabriel vs. Black Sin Cara. Black Cara gets the pin. This was a good match.

They show Teddy Long backstage with Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne and Teddy tells Bourne that he is concerned about his safety and he will not let him compete tonight. Vickie Guerrero comes in and says that she wants Bourne & Kofi to defend the Tag Titles against Dolph & Swagger. Teddy tells Vickie he’s not going to do that tonight and then Zack Ryder comes in and says that he will team with Kofi to face Dolph & Swagger. Teddy says the match is on and he and Ryder go back and forth with woo woo and holla and Vickie says this ridiculous and walks out. This segment was kinda funny.

Sheamus vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio gets the pin after Christian comes out. After the match Christian spears Sheamus. Christian goes to head for the back but Sheamus gets up and Christian comes back in the ring spears Sheamus again. This was a good back and forth match and the post match attack Christian was good too. Looks like the Sheamus-Christian feud will be continuing, which is cool with me.

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston & Zack Ryder vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger. Kofi & Ryder win when Ryder pins Dolph after Kofi gives him Trouble in Paradise. This was good match.

Matt Striker interviews Sheamus about Christian costing him the Battle Royal & his match Alberto Del Rio. Sheamus that Christian is a pain that won’t go away and then tells another Irish tale and saying that Christian was a troll and he is a great white bull. This was a decent promo but I don’t know why they have Sheamus telling these stories. At least he threw something in there after “Great White” since that’s what they’ve been calling him.
Randy Orton vs. World Champion Mark Henry for the Title. Orton wins by DQ when Cody Rhodes comes in. Big Show then comes out to make the save and lays out Henry with a Choke Slam and Orton gave Cody an RKO. This was good back and forth match and I thought the post match action was good too.

On the whole I thought this was a good show. It was way better than Raw was this week. The Battle Royal was fun to watch. The Divas match was ok for what it was, but I’m not sure why Kelly was all smiles here. Black Sin Cara attacking the blue Cara was decent stuff, but I’m not sure why he took his mask. He and Gabriel had a solid match too. I also liked the Sheamus-Del Rio match and Christian post match spears. The Sheamus interview was decent but I’m not sure why they have him telling these Irish tales now that he is a face. The Orton-Henry match was real good too and I liked the post match action also. On the whole I thought this was a good show.

10-13-11 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 13, 2011 episode of Impact

The show starts with Kurt Angle coming to the ring and he asks Bobby Roode to come out. Roode came out and Angle congratulated Roode on winning his matches with his Fortune team mates and then he talks about all the Titles he won in every promotion he competed in and will prove to everyone Sunday that he is the greatest wrestler of all time.   Angle wants to shake his hand but Roode doesn’t buy it. Roode then cuts a promo about winning the World Title and he wants to know who the best wrestler is and that he doesn’t want anyone at ringside. Angle agreed and then told Roode that he has a handicap match later tonight against Gunner & Jeff Jarrett. This was a good segment. Both guys cut great promos.

They show RVD & AJ Styles brawling with Jerry Lynn & Christopher Daniels backstage.

Back from commercial and Daniels & Lynn bring AJ to the ring and the match starts. RVD comes out afterwards.

AJ Styles & Rob Van Dam vs. Christopher Daniels & Jerry Lynn. AJ & RVD win when AJ pins Lynn. This was a good match.

Matt Morgan vs. Samoa Joe. Morgan gets the pin. This was decent but short match. After the match Joe attacked Morgan and Crimson came out with a chair and he ran Joe off. Joe then says that Morgan and Crimson are afraid to face each other so they attack him. He then challenged them to a 3 Way at Bound For Glory.

Mexican America are in the ring and they rag on Ink inc. Ink Inc come out and they tell Mexican America to get the hell out. Mexican America then attack Ink Inc and then Ink Inc’s new valet comes out and goes after Rosita & Sarita and Ink Inc cleaned house on the champs. Jessie then tells them to bring all the women they want at BFG because they have theirs. I wasn’t too fond of this segment. These guys don’t do it for me.

Jessie Sorensen & Brian Kendrick vs. Kid Kash & X Division Champion Austin Aries. Jessie & Brian win when Kendrick pins Aries. This was a good back and forth match.

They show Karen Jarrett & Traci Brooks backstage headed for the ring. Oh joy.

Velvet Sky comes to the ring, then Mickie James, followed by Winter and Angelina and finally Karen & Traci come out with Madison Rayne. Karen gets the mic and says she expects them to make her proud at BFG and that she had to fight to get them on the card because no one wanted them on the show. She mentions that BFG is a show for the upper class. She turns her attention to Velvet and Velvet asks what her problem is and Karen says that she’s class and Velvet is trash and rags on Velvet some more. Velvet then says that there will be a time when Karen will respect her because she will be the next Knockouts Champion. Karen says over her dead body and Velvet pushes Karen over Traci who was in position on her hands and knees. They then start to brawl and security comes in to break it up. Karen then yells at Traci. This segment was awful.

Bully Ray promo backstage telling Anderson not to piss him off cause he might not make it to BFG. This was a good short promo from Ray.

AJ Styles promo backstage saying that Daniels wanted to have another match and that he doesn’t quit. Daniels then attacks him and says that he wants the world to hear him say “I Quit.” This was a good segment.

Ken Anderson vs. Scott Steiner with Bully Ray as the guest enforcer. Anderson gets the pin. Abyss came to the ring and had Steiner hold Anderson to hit him with the chain but Anderson ducked and Steiner got hit. Anderson then got the pin. Ray then chews out Abyss and Gunner & Jeff Jarrett come out and they rag on Abyss. Abyss then grabs Ray’s throat and then Immortal beat Abyss down and Ray was going to put Abyss threw a table but Ken Anderson came back out but was taken out and Ray put him through the table.

Kurt Angle walks into James Storm’s dressing room and Storm says that Angle caused him the match with Roode by ramming him head first into the steps. Angle tries to worm his way out of it and blame Roode and Storm says that he spoke to Bobby and that he had no idea Kurt was coming out. Angle asks him if he’s ok with that.

Backstage promo with Jeff Jarrett & Gunner talking about their handicap match with Bobby Roode.

They have Bobby Roode-Kurt Angle video package with each saying that they will be World Champion. This was a good video piece.

Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Jarrett & Gunner. Roode wins when he makes Gunner tap. This was a solid match. After the match Bully Ray & Scott Steiner come out and attack Roode, but James Storm comes out to make the save. Gunner then attacks Storm from behind and Jarrett hits Storm with the AAA Title. Kurt Angle comes out and Immortal held up and Kurt to let Roode have it when Jeff Hardy came out and cleaned house on Immortal. Jeff offers his hand to Storm and Storm refuses. Jeff then goes to shake Roode’s hand and he does. Storm then blocked Jeff from walking out, but they both raised his arms and they posed.

Jeff Hardy cuts a promo backstage saying that he’s been redeeming himself. Jeff Jarrett then came in and says that they had a friendship at first, but now Jeff Hardy’s no longer part of the company and he tells him not to show up at BFG. Hardy then walks out and Jarrett asks him where he is going and Hardy that he is going to buy a ticket to Philly.

They have a contract signing for Sting vs. Hogan for the PPV. Borash hands the contract to Hogan and he shoves it away to Sting and he signs it. Hogan then signs the contract. JB asks if they any final words and Hogan knocks over the table and takes the mic and says that they had an encounter but Sting was glad when it was over, but for Sting to come to TNA while He & Bischoff were trying get the company back on track, Sting went as low as he could and his from Hogan. He then says that Sting wanted the real Hulk Hogan and now he’s got him and he again says that his wrestling career is over. He then rags on Sting for embarrassing him in front of his fans and that this will be the fight of Sting’s life and this will be man on man. Sting shakes Hogan’s hand and Hogan says that he hopes he’s ready. Eric Bischoff then comes out and distracted Sting and that allowed Hogan to hit him with a chair and attack him in the corner to end the show. This was a typical Sting-Hogan segment I thought. I hope they end this Sunday.

I thought that this was a decent show on the whole. The contract signing was ok for what it was. The RVD & AJ vs. Lynn & Daniels match was good and so was Jessie Sorensen & Brian Kendrick vs. Kid Kash & Austin Aries. I also liked the Roode-Angle video package. They did a really great job with that. I wasn’t too fond of the Ink Inc-Mexican America segment or the Knockouts in the ring with Karen cutting her usual promo. I thought that Daniels attacking AJ in the back was good and even the backstage promo with Hardy & Jarrett was good too. Overall this was a solid show. I thought that they did a good job with the final hype for Bound For Glory.

10-10-11 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the October 10, 2011 episode of Raw

They start the show and there are no commentators at the announce table. Then they go to the back and HHH is there and walks to the ring. The fans cheer for HHH again. I don’t know why. His music hits and he comes out. He says that he and the fans showed up and talks about how he saw something he never thought he’d see last Monday with the “Walk Out.” He says that they walked out on the fans and not him. He says that they now stand outside protesting and he makes the whole roster look like morons. He mentions how they all have their gear but aren’t willing to perform for the fans if HHH doesn’t resign as COO. He asks the fans what he should do and they boo when he asks if he should quit. This is stupid. He mentions that he’s never been a quitter and that he won’t quit now and won’t be blackmailed or intimidated. He then says that he doesn’t care if he has to wrestle a broom stick for 2 hours and that he fought all the wrestlers and that the broom will give a better match. Yes he said that. Great way to tell us your roster doesn’t matter at all Hunter! John Cena’s music plays and he comes out. He mentions that he wasn’t involved in the “Walk Out” last week and says that when the cell PPV ended he said that everyone on the roster asked him to be in on the protest too. He says that they feel that HHH is an ego maniac. He mentions all the other “bosses” (Vince, Bischoff, Vickie, the guest hosts and the lap top GM) and that he worked for and says that they Mike Adamle era was unsafe. He then tells HHH that he is staying because he loves the chaos and that’s what makes the fans watch every week and that his loyalty is to the fans. Sheamus then comes out and says that when HHH gave a speech about his best friend he hit him with a pipe and HHH could have taken legal action but he fought like a man and gave him the arse kicking of his life. He says that he has respect for HHH for that and says that he won’t be part of the protest “with all those losers” and that he came here to be a part of Raw. CM Punk then comes out and says that he feels like he started the whole thing and that he made walking out look cool and that he walked out because his contract expired and that his mic has been cut and that Nash attacked him and that someone doesn’t want him to be WWE Champion. He then says that this industry is about solving problems between the ropes and that he thrives on the unsafe feel. He says that he personally dealt with HHH & Cena when he had a problem with them. He says that he is the last guy Hunter expected out there and Punk asks what they do now. Hunter says that they do what they do on Raw and that’s shut up and fight. He then tells Sheamus that he will face John Cena next and he will be the referee and that Punk can do commentary and he can wear his blazer. That was funny. He then says that Punk will also be the time keeper. Punk goes to the bell and rings it and we got our first match. This started out awful with HHH burying the whole roster AGAIN and Cena’s promo was mediocre. Sheamus cut a decent promo and, of course. Punk cut the best promo out of all of them. The guy is tremendous!

John Cena vs. Sheamus with Triple H as the referee. Punk says that he is the commentator, time keeper and ring announcer and that he is wearing a lot of hats tonight. Then they go to commercial. The match hadn’t even been going for a minute and they go to commercial. Back to the show and the match continues. Vince McMahon’s music plays and he comes out and says that he wants to talk to HHH and asks the others to head for the back and thanks them for standing up for what they believe in. Great Vince, you kick out the guys who are “loyal” to your brand! He then mentions that he believes in HHH and his management style and Raw is better than ever with it’s “wild west” feel (where has that been). He then says that he had a meeting with the board of directors and he mentions that they don’t know where the company is headed and that it could be a financial disaster if things continue to run out of control. Vince then tells HHH that his services are no longer required. He then says that no McMahon family member will run Raw and that the board is looking for a fair GM and till they find who that is they have named a temporary GM and that is Johnny Ace What a shocker that ain’t! Ace then comes out on the stage with a smirk on his face and the fans chant “you suck” at him. He and HHH have a stare down and we go to commercial again. This was painfully terrible!! This whole storyline makes less sense every week. Just when you think it can’t get any worse it always does! I’m not sure where this company is headed either!

Backstage Johnny Ace welcomes all the talent back to the show as they walk back in. John Morrison then tells him that HHH is a narcissist but Ace absolutely sucks. He then says that Morrison has a match next and to go to the ring right away. Christian then says Ace should be the new GM and Ace tells him that he will be facing Morrison next and tells Christian the same. Ace continues welcoming everyone back. That was a very anti climatic way to follow up with this.

Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler & Michael Cole then comes out for commentary.

John Morrison vs. Christian. Both guys are wrestling in non wrestling gear. Christian comes out with Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger. Christian gets the pin in a pretty short match. Dolph, Swagger & Cody then come in the ring and they lay out Morrison. This made no sense either.

They announce that CM Punk will face Alberto Del Rio and that Randy Orton will face Mark Henry tonight.

Mark Henry then comes out for his match.

They show Ace backstage on his cell phone asking whoever it was how he looked. HHH then comes in and Ace says that he didn’t want the job, the board picked him. He mentions that he is willing to make sacrifices for WWE and it is in his blood. HHH then asks him if he ever tried to pick up his teeth with broken fingers and then walks out. This was crap too.

Back in the ring and Mark Henry says that it took him 15 years to become World Champion and that he is the most dominant World Champion of all time and will face any one as long as it’s the number one contender and that Big Show is not. They then replay the Big Show-Mark Henry segments from Smackdown. Henry says that he took all that punishment and he is still here. He then says that at Vengeance, Vengeance will be his. Orton’s voice comes over the speakers and he tells Henry that Vengeance will be his. Orton then come out for the match. But first we have another commercial. This part of the show was better. They’ve been doing a great job with Mark Henry. I hope they continue with that because he is easily the best guy there right now! Back from commercial with the match already started.

Randy Orton vs. World Champion Mark Henry. Cody Rhodes comes out and Orton clotheslines him out of the ring. Henry goes for the World’s Strongest Slam but Orton counters it into the RKO and has Henry pinned but Cody comes in causing a DQ finish. Orton then attacks Cody and set him up for an RKO but Cody kicked him into Henry and Henry gave him 2 World’s Strongest Slams. Henry takes the Title and walks out and Cody comes back in the ring and gives Orton cross Rhodes. He then has his bagger come out and he placed a paper bag over Orton’s head. Cody then says that if you cut the head off the viper all the venom goes with it. He then asks if he would like a receipt with his paper bag and does a psycho laugh. This was pretty good I thought. It looks like we’ll be getting an Orton – Cody feud. Cody did a great job picking up the scraps and being “Joker” like with the psycho evil laugh.

Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres vs. Rosa Mendes & Tamina. Kelly & Eve win when Eve pins Tamina. They show Natalya & Beth watching in the back on a monitor.

Johnny Ace comes out and says that at Vengeance Alberto Del Rio will defend the WWE Title against John Cena. He then tells JR to come into the ring. JR gets in the ring and Ace talks about how HHH gave him his job back and that he walked out on him, the state of Oklahoma and the fans and that makes him a hay seed in great. He then “fires” JR. He then walks out and Cole celebrates saying this is the greatest night ever (actually it’s one of the worst). This was stupid! Why do they always humiliate JR every time they’re in Oklahoma?

Mason Ryan and WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & David Otunga. The faces win when Ryan pins Dolph. This was a solid match. Easily better than most of what’s been on this show.

They show a Brodus Clay video package. This was good.

CM Punk vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. Johnny Ace comes out and has the match stopped and says that there will be a tag match – Punk & Del Rio vs. 2 men he reinstated, The Miz & R-Truth. Miz & Truth come out and sing the “you suck” song. This makes no sense. Why have the 2 guys who were facing each other team up?

CM Punk & WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz & R-Truth. Del Rio acts like he injured his knee and walks out leaving Punk on his own. The double team Punk and the ref calls for the bell. After the match HHH comes out and attacks Miz & Truth. Punk & HHH then brawl with Miz & Truth and Punk throws Truth over the announce table and Truth bails through the crowd. The show Johnny Ace & David Otunga talking backstage and Ace makes Punk & HHH vs. Miz & Truth for Vengeance. Punk & HHH then pose together to end the show. Why are Punk & Hunter posing together after Punk ripped him apart on the mic all summer?

This was one of the worst episodes of Raw I’ve ever seen. They have Johnny Ace on a big chunk of the show and he is painful to watch and listen to. The whole opening made no sense. Triple H is no longer in charge of Raw but is still COO of WWE? I don’t get it! The only good parts on the show were Mark Henry’s promo and Cody & Henry double teaming Orton with Cody cutting a real good promo. The 6 man tag was solid too but most of this show was terribly painful to watch!
