2-27-12 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 27, 2012 episode of Raw

They start the show replaying Cena’s promo from last Monday, which was a really good promo.

CM Punk comes to the ring for his rematch with Daniel Bryan and they replay bits of the match from Smackdown. Then Chris Jericho’s music hits and he comes out and asks if he was expecting somebody else. He says that he thinks Punk a very good performer but no as good as he is. He says Punk isn’t the best in the world at everything he does and he knows it. Then Jericho says that he never had to tell anyone that he is the best in the world and says that he is part of dying breed who cared more about having the best match on the show and not where they were on the card. He says that he developed an attitude because he knew he was the best. Then he says that Punk is like him because he wants to be Jericho. He says that Punk ripped him off. Punk then says that he knows how good Jericho is and so do the fans. His problem is Jericho saying that he stole his gimmick from Jericho. Punk says that he fought for everything he got. Then he mentions Bret Hart and brings up his catchphrase. Then he asks Jericho if he invented that. Then Jericho says that Punk needs to take him seriously. He says that for 22 years he has proven that he is the best in the world and that he has faced every legend and Hall of Famer and beat them all. He then mentions how he’s headlined WrestleMania and that he is the best in the world at everything he does. Punk asks if Jericho is trying to prove to him, the fans, or to himself that he is the best. Then Punk says that Jericho envies Punk because he surpassed what Jericho’s done. He says that Jericho was never really the man like he is and that bothers Jericho. Punk says that he is the best wrestler in the world and that is who he and what he does while Jericho chose to leave and write books and be a rock star. Punk then says that he’s always been on top while Jericho was on Dancing with the stars. Jericho says that while he was doing that he was thinking about how Punk ripped him off and that he returned to beat Punk for the WWE Title at WrestleMania and show that he is the best in the world. Punk says that Jericho could have just challenged him to a match rather than jumping him. He says that they don’t need pyro to let everyone know how awesome they are and on April 1 they will find out who the best in the world is. He then says that after WrestleMania it won’t be the end of the world, but it will be the end of Jericho’s. Then Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he, AJ, Johnny Ace & David Otunga come out. Bryan attacks Punk while he is distracted with Ace but Punk clotheslines him out of the ring. This was a good segment to start the show. Both guys cut really good promos as usual.

Teddy Long & Johnny Ace are on commentary for the Punk-Bryan match. Santino Marella & David Otunga are also at ringside.

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan wins by DQ when Sheamus throws Bryan back in the ring. Otunga got on the apron, Punk nailed him. Then Otunga got on the ring apron again and Santino stopped him. Then Santino & Long bickered with Otunga & Ace. While all that was happening Bryan tried to bail but Sheamus came in and threw him back in the ring. Then Punk hit the GTS and covered Bryan but Ace told the referee to call for the bell. Then Long shoves Ace to the mat and they were set to go at it but Santino & Otunga hold them back. Punk walks up the ramp and poses and then Jericho attacks him from behind and slams Punk on the stage. Then he locks Punk in the Walls of Jericho and then taunts Punk and holds up the WWE Title. Then Jericho throws the belt on Punk’s chest and tells him to enjoy it while he can. This was a mixed bag. The match was good for what it was but it was more of continuing the storyline. The Long-Ace stuff was crap but the Punk-Jericho part was good.

Josh Matthews is backstage and says that Punk was helped into the trainer’s room but he’s more angry than hurt.

They show a video package recapping the Undertaker-Triple H WrestleMania match from last year. There were also comments from some of the talent. This was really well done.

Kelly Kelly vs. Nikki Bella. Kelly gets the pin. This was a short match but was ok.

John Cena’s music hits and he comes out to the typical mixed reaction. Then The Miz comes out with a mic and says that he worked too hard to be treated the way he is. He says that no one has worked harder than he has, not even Cena. Then he talks about all the talk shows he’s been on and that his name has yet to be called upon for WrestleMania (he main evented it last year!) Then he rags on the fans and he says that he will prove to everybody that he is WrestleMania worthy and that he will start be beating the guy he beat in the main event at last year’s WrestleMania. I’m not sure what he meant by being called upon for WrestleMania when he ended the show last year.

John Cena vs. The Miz. Cena wins by submission. This was ok. Cena pretty much dominated Miz here. Miz has really been de-pushed in the last year. Then they show The Rock in his dressing room watching on a monitor and he does a slow mo you can’t see me gesture. Then they go back to Cena and he walks up the ramp slapping the fans’ hands.

R-Truth & Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler & U.S. Champion Jack Swagger vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Epico & Primo for the Titles. Epico & Primo win to retain the Titles when Epico pins Swagger. This was a good match. Afterwards Kane’s pyro hits and the lights go out. Then his music plays and he comes out and lays out Primo and double choke slams Dolph & Epico. Truth gets some offense in but Kane choke slams him too. Then Kane’s pyro hits again and he walks up the ramp.

Johnny Ace & David Otunga are in Ace’s office and then Teddy Long comes in and Ace tells him to get out. Then Long says that Ace might not be running Raw next week. Then Ace says that Long will need to buy a ticket to Smackdown cause he’s been sacked as GM. Then Long calls Ace a horse’s ass and walks out. This was idiotic.

They recap the whole Eve-Cena-Ryder crap.

Eve Torres comes to the ring and says that the fans can judge her if they want. She says that she’s a woman living in a man’s world and there isn’t a guy who wouldn’t want to be used by her. She says that easily seduces the guys and that the guy fans shouldn’t blame her for her natural strengths but they should blame themselves for their weaknesses. This was terrible. Eve is a crappy actor and I could care less about where her character is headed. Thankfully this was short! Then they show her backstage and Kelly asks what’s gotten into her lately. Eve laughs it off and walks out. Then Alicia Fox comes in and doesn’t do anything while Kelly has this pissed off look on her face. This whole bit was lousy.

They show a trailer for a new Edge movie, “Bending The Rules.” Looks like a lousy movie.

Before the next match Cody gets the mic and says that some guy will face Floyd Maywhether. He then talks about the match he had with Show at WrestleMania 24 and they show clips of the match.

Big Show & Sheamus vs. Mark Henry & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Show & Sheamus win when Sheamus pins Henry. This was short and pointless. I don’t know why they continue to job out Henry. Cody walked up the ramp before the match ended.

The replay the Cena promo from last week.

They announce that Shawn Michaels will be at Raw next week.

After a bit they cue The Rock’s music and he comes out and does his usual posing. The fans chant his name and then he gets a mic, but he soaks in the fans’ reactions a bit more. Then he says that he is covered in goose bumps because this feels so damn good. The fans chant his name again and chant boots 2 asses too. Then he says that they will into some chance all night. Then he says that he isn’t here every single week. He says that for years he was and that he was born and created in the WWE. He also says that if it weren’t for WWE and the fans The Rock would never exist. He says that when he said that he came back and was never going away he meant it. He said that didn’t mean he would be on Raw every week. He says that if a certain someone wants to take that literally what can he do. He says that he respects the fans’ intelligence because they know that his heart is in this business and that he loves the WWE and that he will always be a part of WWE and WWE will always be a part of him. Then he says for years he used to think that Cena was a phony but then he realized that he really is that guy who ran him down with all that anger saying that he couldn’t directly speak to him and Rock says that Cena has his number. Then he says that he doesn’t want to talk to Cena and would rather slap him with a Kung Pao chicken. He says that Cena’s not a phony or a bad guy but he is a Kung Pao b**ch. Then the fans chant that. Then he says that Cena said last week that on April 1 he was going to fight for every wrestler in the back. Rock then talks about how he grew up in the wrestling business and that no one fought for him when he started out. He says that while Cena fights for the other wrestlers, Rock fights for the fans. He mentions that the fans are tired of having Cena shoved down their throat every night. He says that the fans are tired of Cena but aren’t tired of being Entertained and that’s what he lives to do. He mentions how he and the people innovate and make new ground. He says that when returned last year and says that Cena looked like Fruity Pebbles the fans started chanting that and then Cena wound up on Fruity Pebble box. Then he mentions the other stuff that he said and how the fans chanted them all. The fans chant his name again and they also chant lady parts. Then he says that the fans should chant lady parts and they do. Then he says they can chant his name and they do. Rock then says that the most innovative thing Cena’s done is change his jean shorts to camouflage shorts. Then Cena’s music plays and he comes out and says that he wasn’t gonna miss this fun. He then says that he is that guy that runs Rock down when he isn’t there but also when he is. Then he mentions that that he was a Rock fan till he met him. He then calls him a self centered SOB who wouldn’t care if the company closed tomorrow. Then he says that on April 1 he will be looking into Dwayne’s eyes and says that he will beat the hell out of him. Then he tells Rock to carry on and continue trending and then he walks to the back. Rock says that it doesn’t surprise him that Cena came out and ragged on him and then left. He then says that The Rock and Dwayne Johnson is the same guy. He then says that Cena runs his mouth about being tough but he isn’t. Then he says that at WrestleMania he will kick Cena’s candy ass all over WrestleMania. “If ya smell what the Rock is cookin’.” Then Rock poses on the turnbuckle to end the show. This was a typical Rock promo with him getting all his catch phrases in there and getting the fans to chant them. I liked that he mentioned that he grew up in the wrestling business.

They certainly did a lot to hype up WrestleMania this week, which they should be doing. There were quite a few long promos on this show. The Punk-Jericho was good and I thought The Rock’s was too. I thought they both went a bit long though. The matches this week weren’t memorable. The Punk-Bryan match had the Long-Ace crap surrounding it so that took from the match. This whole bit with Long & Ace feuding over who will run both Raw & Smackdown is idiotic. The Eve promo was lousy too but was mercifully short. The 3 way tag match was good but I don’t know why they had Kane flatten them all afterwards. The Show & Sheamus-Henry & Cody match was too short and Mark Henry got jobbed out again. The Cena-Miz match wasn’t much either. Cena pretty much dominated The Miz. So overall I thought that this week’s episode was good in terms of hyping up Rock-Cena and Punk-Jericho and the video packages were good too but the rest of the show wasn’t too memorable. It was all about the build to WrestleMania which is ok with me since it is their “Super Bowl” of the year.

2-23-12 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 23, 2012 episode of Impact

The show starts with Bobby Roode coming to the ring and he says that it is a great day to be World Champion. Then he talks about what happened with Sting last week and he says that Sting sent out a tweet that he is done. The fans chant for Sting to come out and Roode says that the fans will get to say their good buys to him later. Roode says that he wants to talk about himself and not about Sting. He talks about being the fans’ World Champion and he says that ending Sting’s career was not only the greatest accomplishment of his career but it was the greatest accomplishment of his life. Then he mentions that guys like Harley Race, Lex Luger, Vader, Ric Flair & Hulk Hogan couldn’t get rid of Sting but the, “It factor” can say that he is the man that ended Sting’s career. Then Roode says that he has a message for Sting for when he comes out later to say his goodbyes to the fans. And that is not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out. This was a good promo. Roode is really good as a heal.

They show Matt Morgan & Crimson blaming each other for losing the tag titles. Then they get on the same page and say they’ll win back the belts tonight. This was decent.

TNA World Tag Team Champions Magnus & Samoa Joe vs. Matt Morgan & Crimson for the Titles. Magnus & Joe win when Magnus pins Morgan Crimson hit Morgan by mistake and that allowed Joe & Magnus to hit a snap mare into an elbow drop on Morgan for the 3 count. Afterwards Crimson walks out on Morgan. This was a good match.

Brandon Jacobs from the Giants comes to the ring and talks about James Storm’s win last Thursday. Then he mentions that Bully Ray should have known better than to spit in his face. Jacobs lets Ray know that they’re in Ray’s backyard again and he calls Ray out. Ray comes out and he tells “Brenda” to settle down. Then he introduces himself to Jacobs and he points out his calves to him. Then Ray says that they have a lot in common. They’re both champions but Jacobs is a 2 time champion while Ray is a 23 time champion. Then Ray mentions that Jacobs plays for New York and that he is from there. The fans chant for Jacobs and then Ray asks why they like him. Then Ray says that would like to beat the crap out of a Super Bowl champion but he won’t waste his time with someone who only got 59 yards in the Super Bowl and never scored a touch down. Then Jacobs says tells Ray to get in the ring. Ray says no and then Jacobs says that he will come to him and then he chases Ray to the back. This was a good segment. Ray is one of the best heals today.

They show Brandon Jacobs backstage and he says that Ray can run but he can’t hide. Then he runs into James Storm and he has an idea how to get Ray.

Alex Shelly vs. Zima Ion. Ion gets the pin after he sprays hair spray in Shelly’s eyes. Austin Aries was at ringside watching the match and had some wine and popcorn. This was a good back and forth match.

They show clips of the Garrett Bischoff-Gunner match from Against All Odds.

Garrett is backstage and he says that his dad can talk all he wants but nothing will keep him from doing what he does. Then Hulk Hogan comes in and asks Garrett if he knows what’s happening. He tells Garrett that if he stays in this business his dad will make it miserable for him and that there will be a target on his back. I wasn’t into this. Hulk trains Garrett and now he is trying to talk him out of being a wrestler? Whatever.

Madison Rayne talks about how Sting hasn’t been fair to her or Gail and hopes she’s done. Then she talks about the issues she and Gail have been having and she says that she gave Gail the competition that only Gail deserves. This was a decent promo.

ODB vs. Knockouts Champion Gail Kim. Gail gets the pin. Afterwards Madison comes in to celebrate with Gail but Gail doesn’t want to. This wasn’t much. They did a decent job building tension with Madison & Gail after the match.

They show AJ Styles from “earlier today” and he talks about how Kazarian & Daniels lost their way and that he is going to focus on winning the World Title. Good promo.

They show the spot that led to Jessie Sorensen’s concussion with comments from him and his mom. That is really a shame that he got hurt. Hopefully he will recover soon.

AJ Styles vs. TV Champion Robbie E. for the Title. AJ wins by DQ when Kazarian pulls AJ off the apron. Daniels was at ringside with Kazarian. This match was ok.

Before the main event started Bully Ray takes the mic out of JB’s hand and introduces himself. That was cool. Then James Storm says that Brandon Jacobs and Jacobs comes out.

James Storm & Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray & Kurt Angle in a No DQ match. Storm & Jeff win when Storm pins Ray after Brandon Jacobs choke slammed Ray through a table. Then Jacobs and Storm have a couple beers. Then Jacobs gets the mic and tells Ray, “sorry about your damn luck.”

Some guy knocks on Sting’s door and tells it’s show time.

Sting comes to the ring he says that because there is too much to handle he is done. Then Bobby Roode’s music hits and he come to the ring. He apologizes for coming out but he couldn’t help himself. Roode says that he needs to stand beside Sting when Sting tells the World that Roode is the better man and that he’s done. Sting says that Roode hasn’t won any battle or war and says that Roode helped him out. Then Sting gets out his face paint and puts it on. He says that instead of giving up, Roode woke him up and he feels alive. Then he says that there will be no more mister nice guy and that he will get his boots, ring gear and war paint. Then he vows to kick the crap out of Roode at
Victory Road
. Roode goes to kick Sting in the groin but Sting blocks him and then he kicks Roode in the groin. Then he tells Roode that he needs to follow the yellow brick road to
Victory Road
and he throws down the mic to end the show. This was good too. I liked Sting’s promo here. Roode’s promo was good too.

I liked this show for the most part. There was some good stuff on here. Roode’s opening promo was really good and I liked the closing segment with Roode & Sting. I thought Sting did a good job with his promo playing the whack job that’s out for revenge. The main event tag match was really good too. I thought they all worked hard. Brandon Jacobs was good too. I liked the segment with him & Ray earlier in the show. Alex Shelly & Zima Ion also had a good match and I liked Austin Aries being at ringside. The tag title match was also fun to watch. Magnus & Joe are really good as a team and it looks like they’ll be going back to the Matt Morgan-Crimson feud. The Jessie Sorensen video package was really well done too and I hope he recovers soon! The AJ-Robbie E match was ok but nothing special. The AJ-Daniels & Kazarian feud is continuing which I’m ok with. The Knockouts match wasn’t much but they did a good job in continuing the tension between Madison & Gail. The Garrett Bischoff-Hulk Hogan backstage segment was the only part of the show I wasn’t into. Besides that I thought this was a really good show.

2-21-12 Live Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 21, 2012 Live episode of Smackdown

The show starts with World Champion Daniel Bryan coming to the ring with AJ. He says that when he won the Smackdown MITB and said he would main event WrestleMania no one believed him yet here he stands as the World Champion and will be headed to the WrestleMania main event. Then he mentions that Santino was trying to channel Rocky Balboa but Daniel is the real Rocky story. Then he says the Rocky line to AJ. Then he says that after he was celebrating his moment was ruined by Sheamus. He says that he will ruin Sheamus’ moment at WrestleMania and will show everyone that he will be victorious just like tonight when he beats CM Punk. Then The Miz comes out and says that Miz knew he would become World Champion because he was his NXT pro. He says that he knew Bryan had the skill, but he’s not out to steel the spotlight but to congratulate him on being in the Mania main event. Then he says that after Daniel beats Sheamus they should form a tag team. Then Sheamus comes out and says he also wants to congratulate Daniel, on being a hypocrite and says that Daniel is a coward and says that Miz is almost as conceded as Daniel is. Then he says that at Mania everyone will be saying that Daniel got what he deserved. Then Miz gets in Sheamus’ face for disrupting the Champ. Then Sheamus says to let Bryan talk and then he slaps him then throws Miz over the top rope. This was a good opening segment. All 3 guys cut good promos and I liked how Miz was faking trying to get on Bryan’s good side.

Sheamus vs. The Miz. Sheamus gets the pin. This was a good back and forth match.

Teddy Long & Aksana are in the office and Aksana says that she wants Long to be the GM of Raw & Smackdown and that behind every man is a great women. Then Johnny Ace comes in and says that he should be GM of Smackdown. Then Long says that Ace & Otunga have their own office with a bathroom and tells Ace that he can’t miss it because the door has “M-E-N” written on it. Then David Otunga says that Long’s office should be in a dumpster after he beats Ezekiel Jackson again tonight. This was idiotic.

Vickie Guerrero comes out and introduces Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler.

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler & U.S. Champion Jack Swagger. Dolph & Swagger win when Dolph pins Kofi. This was a solid match.

They show the Ron Simmons hall of fame induction video.

They show Santino Marella with his cobra sock knocking paper cups off a table. Then Heath Slater knocks them all off. Then Santino says this cobra is not an ordinary cobra and it “spits” at Slater. Santino says that it is a spitting cobra. This was typical Santino comedy. I wasn’t into this.

Great Khali vs. Drew McIntyre. Khali gets the pin. This was a squash. Poor Drew!

Big Show is backstage and tells Matt Striker that Cody Rhodes is on the top of his you know what list and that he is probably at the top of Mark Henry’s and he will knock him out. Then he says that when gets a hold of Cody he will snap his neck. Good promo from Big Show.

Big Show vs. Mark Henry. Mark Henry wins by count out. Cody Rhodes comes out and says that it must not be WrestleMania because Show choke slammed some one. Then he talks about his match at WrestleMania 21 with Akebono and we get a “Cody Rhodes presents.” They show clips of that match, which of course Show lost. Then Mark Henry slams Show and hits a splash but Show kicks out. Then Show punches out Henry and then goes up the ramp after Cody (who had already gone backstage). The match was good and Cody Rhodes cut a good promo. I wasn’t crazy about seeing clips of the sumo match but Rhodes was good in his role. It looks like we might be getting a Big Show-Cody Rhodes match. I’m not sure if it will be at WrestleMania since Show might face Shaquelle O’Neil that night.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. David Otunga. Otunga gets the pin. Why’d they have Zeke job to Otunga 2 nights in a row? This match was pointless. Zeke is in rent don’t buy land.

Matt Striker interviews CM Punk and says that Punk will face Jericho at Mania but he will face Daniel Bryan tonight and asks for his thoughts. Punk says that it’s great to be back on Smackdown and says that Teddy Long is a better GM then Johnny Ace. He says that he will deal with Jericho. Then he says that Daniel Bryan being World Champion has gotten to his head and that if he tells AJ to shave her head he will sue him for copyright infringement. Then he says that Bryan is World Champion because he knows how to win. Then he says that tonight Daniel will know how to lose. This was another really good CM Punk promo.

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan bails and looks to head to the back but Sheamus comes out and throws him back in the ring. Then Punk gives Daniel a round house kick and gets the pin. Then Johnny Ace comes out and says that because Sheamus interfered the match will continue. Bryan rolls Punk up for the pin and holds on to the top rope. Then Teddy Long comes out and says that the match won’t end this way. Long says the match continues. Bryan superplexes Punk from the top rope and then both men pin each other and the referee counts both buy’s shoulders down. Then Long & Ace argue over who got the pin. Ace gets in the ring and raises Bryan’s hand and then Long gets in the ring and raises Punk’s. Then Long & Ace argue more and they take their jackets off, throw them, at each other and then Long walks out. Bryan complains to Ace to end the show.

I thought this was a good show overall. The Punk-Bryan promo at the start of the show was well done and their main event match was really good and it made sense to not have a clean finish since both guys are World Champions. The other stuff on the show was good too. Sheamus and Miz had a good match. Big Show & Mark Henry was good too and Cody Rhodes’ promo was good also. The Jackson-Otunga match was pointless and so was the Santino-Slater bit with the sock cobra backstage. Khali-Drew was a squash. Drew McIntyre continues to be a jobber. He & Zeke might be on the future endeavored list. Johnny Ace & David Otunga backstage with Teddy Long was idiotic and I’m tired of Aksana. Kofi & Truth vs. Dolph & Swagger was a solid match too. Punk’s backstage promo was also good and I liked when he said he would sue Daniel for copyright infringement if he made AJ shave her head. On the whole I thought this was a good show.

2-20-12 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 20, 2012 episode of Raw

The show starts with Eve and The Bella Twins. They ask how Zack is and that he is a great guy and Eve laughs. Then Eve says that she was using Zack and that he wouldn’t know what to do with a woman like her. She says that just like she used Ryder she will use Cena. Then she says that before Cena comes to her she will go to him. She gives them her phone to record but then Cena shows up and the cat’s out of the bag. This was a mixed segment. I liked that they had Eve admit that she’s a heal but I’m tired of the whole “here’s what I’m gonna do to this guy” when the cameraman is RIGHT THERE! At least Cena came in and we were speared any crap for now.

Then John Cena comes to the ring and poses. Sure because after your friend gets injured by a guy who’s been tormenting you for weeks and then you just overheard that his friend’s “girl” was using him that’s the first thing you do is pose IF YOU’RE JOHN CENA! Then Eve comes out and wants to explain what’s happening. She says that what he heard was taken out of context. Cena says she’s been talking enough and says that Eve has sipping the skank juice and that she plans to use her “assets” to further her career. Eve says they’re friends. Cena laughs that off and says that because of her he lost his friend Zack Ryder. He then says that she shouldn’t waste time with up and hold out for The Rock because they’re both users (Ok I’m not sure how Rock is a user but hey). Then she goes to kiss Cena again or whatever and then referees come out and break it up. Then Cena says that he disease free and would like to keep it that way. Then he leaves and Eve sits in the center of the ring and cries while the referees and some dude in a suit tend to her. They help her up the ramp and she’s still crying. This was stupid! I don’t know why they had Eve crying her eyes out when she admitted that she was being a user! This didn’t really make any sense, but that’s WWE for you.

They show an Undertaker video package. This was really good too.

Sheamus vs. Mark Henry. Sheamus gets the pin. This was a solid match but I’m not sure why they had Henry job clean. I get that Sheamus will challenging for the World Title but why job out Henry?

Johnny Ace & David Otunga are talking and Ace says that everyone is talking about him. Then Teddy Long comes in and Ace tells him to feel at home. Long says that he wouldn’t hangout with Otunga or Ace. Then Ace says that he had no idea that Del Rio, Christian & Henry supported him to be GM of both shows. Long likes the idea too but wants to let the fans decide. Ace says that he doesn’t care about the fans but he cares about the board of directors. Then Ace says that tonight there will be a 10 man Battle Royal and the winner will challenge CM Punk for the WWE Title at WrestleMania. Long says that there will be 5 guys from each show. Then Otunga asks if Long think that Smackdown is better than Raw. Then Ace says that Otunga will beat anyone from Smackdown. So we’ll have David “coffee mug man” Otunga face a Smackdown guy. This was idiotic too. Ace bores me & having Long on the show isn’t gonna do any good.

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Primo & Epico. Kofi & Truth win when Kofi pins Primo. This was a solid match.

They show a video package announcing that Ron Simmons will be inducted to the Hall of Fame this year. This was a really good video. Simmons is definitely hall of fame material.

They show CM Punk kicking Chris Jericho out of the chamber.

Then Josh Mathews is with Jericho and Jericho says that he wasn’t eliminated because he wasn’t pinned. He says that Punk is a man who doesn’t believe in what he says. Then he says that he believes that he is the best in the world at what he does. Then he says that tonight will be the end of the world as we know it and that everyone in the battle royal and CM Punk will know what he’s talking about. This was the usual good promo from Chris Jericho.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. David Otunga. Otunga gets the pin. This was short and meaningless.

The show the end of the TREMENDOUS promo from Triple H & Shawn Michaels. Then they show Undertaker (they don’t show his face) walking backstage.

The Undertaker’s gong hits and the lights go out. Then his music plays and he comes out and slowly walks to the ring. Then he gets the mic and says that for nearly a year every moment of every day he has lived the memory of the beating he took from Triple H last year. He says that the wounds have all healed and that he has been living a hell of an uncertainty that he can no longer bear. Then he mentions that he challenged Triple H to end the uncertainty and says he didn’t expect him to say no. Then he says the choice wasn’t Hunter’s to make and that this has to come to an end. He says that they are on an apocalypse of wrestling and that they are the last of their kind. He says that the suit and tie are layers of who he really is. He then says that this is something Hunter can’t lie to himself about. He says he can lie to Shawn but not to him. He says that this is bigger than then the 2 of them, it is the apocalypse. Then Triple H’s music plays and he comes out. Hunter gets a mic and talks about Taker challenging him and he was about to say what he saw but Taker told him to shut up. He says that he doesn’t need Hunter’s pity and what is pitiful is the excuses Hunter is coming up with to get out of the match. Hunter then says that it’s their job not to end the legacy but to carry it on for the next generation. He says that he will not be the guy who puts out that flame because it would be bad for business. Then Taker asks if it’s bad for business if he’s gone or is it bad for business that Hunter will be gone. Hunter says that it’s just plain bad for business. Hunter says that he has never been more certain of anything in his life and that if Taker looks inside himself he is certain of it too. Hunter says that Taker is not asking for redemption but for an end. Then he says that he knows he has to finish him to beat and he says that that’s what Taker wants him to do. He then says that won’t be the guy that finishes it. Taker then says that he can say all he wants but when he looks at himself all he will see is a coward. Hunter says that he’s sick of this coward business and was about to flip but then he caught himself. He says that he sees what Taker’s trying to do but it’s not gonna work and that the answer is no. Hunter leaves the ring and then Taker says that he just figured it out. He says that Hunter knows that he can’t do what Michaels couldn’t do and that Shawn was always better then Hunter. Hunter takes his jacket and tie off and unbuttons his shirt and walks back to the ring. He and Taker stare down each other. Hunter says that it has nothing to do with Shawn and he knows that he can do what Shawn couldn’t, that he can finish Taker and that Taker knows it too. Then he says that the layers of who he is are gone. He says that if Taker wants this to come to an end at WrestleMania then he’s got it. Then he says that they go all the way. No return, no uncertainty and no excuses. The streak will end. He says that he will face him at WrestleMania under one condition. That the match be a hell in a cell. Taker taps him on the shoulder and walks to the back. This was really awesome! They’ve done a great job building to this match and it should be a good one at Mania!

Daniel Bryan comes to the ring and says that based on his accomplishment that the fans should consider him a role model. Then he mentions that he won the chamber match and is still World Champion. Then Santino Marella’s music plays and he comes out for his match with Daniel.

Santino Marella vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan wins by submission. This was good but short match.

Kelly Kelly & Aksana vs. The Bella Twins. The Bellas win when Aksana gets pinned. This was short and pointless.

John Cena is in the ring and says that before Eve cut him off before he was going to talk about The Rock. He says that Rock will be on Raw next week to address him says that will be fun. He then says that he used love the Rock but then he became Dwayne and is no longer the people’s champion. He says that he doesn’t respect The Rock. He respects Dwayne Johnson for what he’s done but he has a legit beef with him and has had it for 7 years. He says that what he is most proud of is that he always showed up and never left and that Rock left as soon as he got a taste of Hollywood. Then he talks about how Rock said he would never leave last year but he left. Then he says that he is fighting for every person behind that curtain whose dream it’s been to be professional wrestler in WWE. Then he says that Rock will have to kill him to beat him and that the headlines will say that he beat Rock in his home town at WrestleMania. Then he says, “I’ll see you next week movie star.” This was a better promo from Cena than usual.

CM Punk is on commentary for the battle royal

R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, The Miz, Big Show, Great Khali, Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella, Cody Rhodes & Chris Jericho in a10 Man Battle Royal for a WWE Title match at WrestleMania. Chris Jericho wins. Elimination order: 1. Everyone eliminates Khali. 2. Kofi & Truth eliminate Miz. 3. Santino eliminates Barrett 4. Santino eliminates Truth 5. Show eliminates Dolph 6. Jericho eliminates Kofi 7. Cody eliminates Santino 8. Show eliminates Cody 9. Jericho (with assist from Cody) eliminates Show. This was good too. CM Punk gets in the ring and he stares down Jericho. They grin at each other and Punk offers his hand but Jericho doesn’t take it and leaves the ring. Then Punk poses on the turnbuckle with the Title as Jericho watches and this ends the show. Dolph & Barrett both got injured during the match. I’m not sure if they’re legit injuries, but when Dolph got injured a referee made the X sign and they brought a stretcher out for Barrett. We’ll see what happens, but I think they might have been legit since they didn’t focus on them. If they are injured I hope it’s minor!

I thought that this week’s show was good for the most part. The opening bit with Eve admitting she’s a heal and the in ring bit with her and Cena was idiotic and so was Teddy Long in the back with David Otunga & Johnny Ace. The Jackson-Otunga and the Divas tag match were both pointless. Kofi & Truth vs. Primo & Epico was solid and they Santino-Daniel match was short but I liked it. Sheamus & Mark Henry had a decent match too and I liked the battle royal also. Hopefully Dolph & Barrett aren’t legit injured. The highlight of the show of course was the Taker-Triple H promo. That was really good! Overall I thought this was a good show.

2-17-12 Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 17, 2012 episode of Smackdown

Before the show starts they show a video package recapping the Randy Orton-Big Show match on Raw.

The actual show starts with Randy Orton in Teddy Long‘s office and Long tells him that he isn’t fit to compete and is pulled from the Elimination Chamber. (Randy Orton got a legit concussion on Monday after his match with Big Show when Daniel Bryan hit him with the belt.) This was a good way to start the show. Orton’s expression was good and I hope he isn’t out too long.

Big Show & Great Khali vs. Wade Barrett & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Show & Khali win when Show pins Barrett. This was a decent match. Afterwards Khali gets in Show’s face and Show punches him out.

Teddy Long is on his phone talking about Orton’s concussion and then Mark Henry comes in. He tells Long that he should have him take Orton’s place in the chamber and that he needs him to be champion. Then Big Show comes in and tells Long that he wants Daniel Bryan tonight. Henry then steps up to Show and Show punches him. Then he wrecks Long’s office. This was good. Big Show was really intense here. Henry’s promo was good too and hopefully he will be back in action soon.

Teddy Long is talking to security and tells them to ask Big Show to leave the arena. One of the security guys says that he isn’t going anywhere near him and Long says that they should call for back up. This was good too. I liked how they had the security guy admit that he was afraid to piss of Big Show.

Ted DiBiase, Jr. vs. Hunico. Hunico gets the pin when Camacho gets involved. This was a solid match.

The Usos vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Primo & Epico. Primo & Epico win. This was a decent match too. Afterwards Michael Cole announced that Big Show had voluntarily left the building.

Daniel Bryan comes to the ring and says that unlike Big Show & Randy Orton he is a real man. He says that he has proven he is a winner and demands Lillian announce him as the winner by forfeit. Lillian reluctantly does. Daniel celebrates and then Teddy Long comes out. He tells Daniel that he found a replacement for Randy Orton and out comes Sheamus. I don’t get why they’re having these 2 face each other on Smackdown because this should and will hopefully take place at WrestleMania. This was the usual great promo from Bryan. The guy is a really good heal.

Sheamus vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Daniel wins by DQ when Sheamus shoves the referee. Before the match Daniel takes his belt and walks out but Sheamus came after him. The match continued and Daniel got on the top rope and spit in Sheamus’ face and then Sheamus went nuts and shoved the referee leading to the DQ. This was good too. Both these are really talented and I hope they will have a rematch for the World Title at WrestleMania.

Wade Barrett comes into Teddy Long’s office and wants to know who will be replacing Orton in the chamber. Then Cody Rhodes comes in and says he will win the chamber but he also would like to know who will be taking Orton’s spot. Long says that the winner of a Battle Royal will fill Randy Orton’s spot in the Elimination Chamber. Cody then says that Long can’t just fill the spot with a no name guy. Long says that someone will get the opportunity of a life time. Barrett & Cody walk out in disgust. This was a good backstage bit too.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Jinder Mahal. Mahal wins by submission. This was a short match.

Tamina & Alicia Fox vs. Natalya & Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. Tamina & Alicia win. Afterwards Tamina super kicks Beth and then goes to the top rope for the Superfly Splash but Beth rolls out of the ring. This was a decent match too.

Teddy Long is on his cell phone and Johnny Ace & David Otunga come in and Ace says that David Otunga will be in the Battle Royal. This was kinda weak.

Battle Royal for the empty Elimination Chamber slot. Santino Marella wins after eliminating David Otunga at the end. Why is Santino in this match? This just shows how thin they are of top guys.  This was good for a battle royal but it was filled with low-mid card guys who aren’t even in the World Title picture.

I thought that this was a middle of the road show overall. Daniel Bryan cut a great promo as usual and he & Sheamus had a great match. Big Show losing it was good too. I liked that they had him flip. The rest of the matches were not that memorable. The Show& Khali-Barrett & Cody match was decent and the Usos-Primo & Epico was a solid match. The Ted-Hunico and divas tag matches were short and not too memorable. The Battle Royal was good for a Battle Royal but does there wasn’t anyone in there that would have been believable challengers for the World Title. They should have had Ezekiel Jackson win. That would have been more believable than Santino. On the whole I thought that this was a mixed bag show.

2-16-12 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 16, 2012 episode of Impact

The show starts with Bobby Roode coming to the ring and tells Christie Hemme to reintroduce him because the fans were really loud. She re announces him and He mentions that he still has the World Title after beating 3 guys and that the highlight was Sting having to raise his arm. Then he mentions that Sting should be pointing the finger at himself and not Roode because it was Sting who helped him remain Champion. The crowd chants for Sting and he comes to the ring and says that he was selfish and that he let his anger determine the result of the match. Sting mentions how he screwed Jeff Hardy a second time but he wants to make things right. He says that since Roode is a “fighting champion” he will defend the World Title against Jeff Hardy in a No DQ, No Time Limit match tonight. Sting’s music plays and then he tells Roode that the match is next. This was a good opening segment. Roode cut a great promo as usual and Sting is really good in his role too.

Jeff Hardy vs. TNA World Champion Bobby Roode in a No DQ, No Time Limit match for the Title. Roode gets the pin after Kurt Angle comes in and throws Jeff into the stairs. This was a really good match. (Note: They originally had Angle knock Jeff off the ropes but for some reason they re taped the finish).

Bobby Roode cuts a promo backstage saying he retained the Title again. Then he asks how many chances will Jeff Hardy get. Then Sting comes in and says that he isn’t done yet and that he will defend the Title again. He says that there will be a number on contender match tonight. This was decent too, but how could Roode have cheated if it was No DQ match?

Eric Young is backstage with a guitar and talks about how he forgot to get ODB a Valentine’s Day present. Whatever. I’m tired of this gimmick.

Sting is talking to 2 guys who have unfinished business and that he is sick of the world title situation. He asks if they’re in and they show James Storm & Bully Ray. Ray says that there shouldn’t have to be a match since he had the title won Sunday. Storm says that he had the match won and says he will bet Ray tonight. This was good too. Sting’s been good tonight and Ray of course was good too as was James Storm.

Alex Shelly & Shannon Moore vs. Zima Ion & X Division Champion Austin Aries. Ion & Aries win when Ion pins Shelly. This was a good match too. Aries had Shelly set up for the brain buster but Ion made the blind tag. That allowed Shelly to escape the attempted brain buster and then Ion rolled Shelly up for the pin.

They show a video package on the legit concussion that Jessie Sorensen got at the PPV. They say that he is doing better and will be released from the hospital this week. Thank God he’s going to be ok.

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne are backstage and Gail complains and then Madison says that they had some tension Sunday but doesn’t want to fight. This was ok.

Before the Battle Royal starts Madison gets the mic and says that everyone needs to understand what a great champion she is. She says that Gail doesn’t owe them anything but she is generous she is letting this battle royal happen.

Velvet Sky, Sarita, Rosita, Mickie James, Madison Rayne, Angelina Love, Winter, Brooke Tessmacher, Tara & ODB in a 10 Knockouts Battle Royal to become the number one contender for the Knockouts Title. Madison Rayne wins when she eliminates Velvet. Madison sat at ringside with Gail Kim most of the match and then came in and eliminated Velvet after Velvet eliminated Sarita. Gail wasn’t too thrilled about that. (Elimination order: 1 Winter by ODB 2 Brooke Tessmacher by ODB 3 Rosita by ODB 4 Mickie James by ODB 5 ODB by Tara, Velvet & Sarita 6 Tara by Sarita 7 Angelina Love by Sarita 8 Sarita by Velvet 9 Velvet Sky by Madison) This was a typical battle royal with fast eliminations till it got to Velvet, Angelina & Sarita. Madison coming in was ok too.

James Storm cuts a promo saying that at the end he will be the guy standing after tonight’s match and be the number one contender for the World Title. This was good too.

Samoa Joe & Magnus are backstage and says it feels good to be Tag Team Champions. Magnus says that it’s also right. Joe says that will remain the Champions after their rematch next week. This was also a good promo. These 2 are really good together.

Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair & Gunner come to the ring with the returning Chelsea. Eric mentions that Flair & Gunner helped to end the chapter in Garrett’s life where he wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps. He thanks them both and Chelsea brings in some cigars for Gunner & Flair. Then Eric tells Flair & Gunner to have some champagne while he says more about his son. Eric says that Garrett is probably in his hotel room watching and tells him that it was a waste of time to follow in his dad’s footsteps. Then he says that he Garrett’s isn’t him and that Garrett can do whatever he wants but he shouldn’t think about returning to the wrestling business again. Then he wishes him good luck in his future endeavors. Then they have champagne. This was kinda weak. I’m not into the whole Bischoff and Son feud and I have no idea why Chelsea is back.

Bully Ray talks about his match with Storm saying it shouldn’t be happening because he should be World Champion right now. Then he says he will beat Storm and then beat his friend Bobby Roode and become World Champion. This was a really good promo from Ray. The guy is one of the best talkers!
Christie Hemme interviews some guy about a new MMA show. This was pointless.

Eric Young runs into ODB and more nonsense happens. Then Young plays his guitar and sings. He asks what she thinks and she says it’ hot in there. Then she says it is time for his present. This was idiotic.

James Storm vs. Bully Ray. Storm gets the pin to become the number one contender for the World Title. This was a really good back and forth match. Afterwards, Storm celebrates and Brandon Jacobs from the New York Giants comes over the rail and they have a beer. Then Ray goes after Storm. Then he gets in Jacobs’ face and says that he’s in Ray’s house. Then Ray spits beer in his face and Jacobs pushes him down then they brawl and security holds Jacobs back. After Ray left, Jacobs & Storm go in the ring and they taunt Ray. Then Jacobs & Storm hug and then Jacobs raises Storms’ arm.

James Storm & Brandon Jacobs are backstage and Jacobs says he came to see Storm beat Ray. Then he mentions that Ray was out of line when he spit the beer at him. Then he says that he got the last word. Then Storm says that if the Patriots couldn’t stop him then no one can. Then Jacobs says that payback is coming for Ray.

Sting comes to the ring and says that he has some good news but first he wants to speak to Bobby Roode. Roode comes out and Sting tells him that the match of the year for Impact at Lock Down saying that Roode will defend the World Title against James Storm in the Steel Cage. Then Roode kicks Sting in the groin and then kicks him. Then he takes Sting’s glasses off and puts them on. Then he hits Sting with the belt and then punches him in the head. Then he puts the glasses back on Sting. Roode stands over Sting and then he gets the belt and tells Sting that he should learn to mind his own business. This ends the show.

I thought this was a good episode overall. The opening and closing segments were good and I liked the Hardy-Roode & Storm-Ray matches. Both were really fun to watch. The rest of the show was good overall too. Joe & Magnus cut a good promo and so did Bully Ray. The only parts that were weak were Eric Bischoff talking, the Eric Young-ODB segments and the Knockouts Battle Royal. I liked the rest of the show! The X Division tag match was good too. Ion vs. Aries should be a good match. I’m also glad to hear that Jessie Sorensen is doing better! Thank God! This was a really good show on the whole.

2-13-12 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 13, 2012 episode of Raw

The show starts with Kane saying that there’s nothing that he won’t do to make John Cena to embrace the hate. He then says that will tonight and also someone will take a ride in this. He opens the doors of an ambulance. I really hope to God they end this Sunday!

Jerry Lawler is in the ring with the guys who will be in the WWE Title Elimination Chamber match for a debate. Are they kidding!? King says that he will ask them questions and they’ll 45 seconds to respond. He starts with Punk and asks what makes him think he can walk out still WWE Champion. Before Punk says anything Johnny Ace & David Otunga come out and Ace thanks the board for letting him remain Raw GM. The fans chant CM Punk loudly! Then Punk says that this debate will not end in violence. Then he congratulates Ace on convincing the Board to keeping his job. He then says that Ace was doing a lot of begging. Then he says that he will win the chamber match because he is the best wrestler in the world. King then goes to Dolph but Vickie chimes in and tells Lawler that they’re shouldn’t be any booing. Then Dolph says that everyone know that he is a better wrestler than Punk. Then he rags on R-Truth for not knowing what state they’re in. Truth then says if he’s elected he will trade Dolph & Vickie to Smackdown for Hornswoggle & Spiders. Truth rambles on some more saying that he will stomp on spiders and make spider stew. Then he says more nonsense and says that he will win the chamber. That was awful! Then Lawler goes to Miz saying he was in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania and Miz says that he was the main event at WrestleMania. Then he says Kofi is an after thought, Truth is insane, Punk is 0-2 in the chamber and says that this is Dolph’s first chamber and that the only time he scored was with an “old woman.”  Before he can get to Jericho the buzzer goes off. Then he rambles on more. Then Kofi says that in one night everything can change and that he might walk out the next WWE Champion. Finally King gets to Jericho. Jericho says that there isn’t anyone who has been in more chamber matches than him. He mentions that the last time he was in a chamber he walked out World Champion. He says that that the list of his accomplishments outweigh the other 5. Then he talks to Punk and tells him to give him the title right now because the master has come to reclaim what is his. Punk says that he wasn’t listening to him and was thinking about how Jericho finished 7th on dancing with the stars. Dolph then says that this segment is a joke (oh he is so right). Then Truth says that he won’t be talked down to by a guy named “Flipper.” Then Lawler says that Kofi vs. Jericho will take place next. Before that happens Jericho knocks over Punk’s stand. Punk holds up the title and then Kofi gives Jericho Trouble In Paradise. This was TERRIBLE!! Dolph saying that he will never get these 15 minutes of his life back was the truest thing said in this joke of a segment! What are they thinking in WWE?

Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho. Jericho gets the pin. This was a solid match.

They show Shawn Michaels backstage and he runs into Triple H and they hug.

They show John Cena & Zack Ryder backstage and Cena asks Ryder how he fells. Ryder has flowers and candy for Eve and says that he’s going to tell her she is the love of his life. Then Cena mentions that Kane has gone after Ryder every time. Then he tells Ryder to stay in the locker room and that he will bring Eve to him. This was dumb. Ryder’s character has totally been neutralized.

Johnny Ace & David Otunga are in the office and Ace says he’s glad to be back. Then Otunga says that that was the good news but the bad news is that Ace wasn’t made the permanent GM. Then he says that he has an idea so that Ace can be GM of both Raw & Smackdown. This was lame too.

They show a WWE.com clip of Big Show choke slamming Randy Orton last week after Smackdown ended.

Daniel Bryan comes out to watch the next match.

Big Show vs. Randy Orton. Orton wins by DQ when Daniel Bryan comes in and hits Orton with the belt. Then he hit Big Show with the belt. This was a decent match and Bryan’s post match attack and celebration was ok too.

Shawn Michaels comes to the ring and says that earlier today a guy tweeted him asking why he is always on this time of year. He says because it’s WrestleMania season. He says that he was watching Raw at home last week and he mentions that he was waiting for Triple H to say that he accepts The Undertaker’s challenge and was hocked that he didn’t. Then he says that Triple H is baiting Taker and he is here to bring Triple H out to say that he will beat Taker at WrestleMania and end the streak. Triple H’s music plays and he comes out and he and Michaels hug in the ring and Hunter raises HBK’s arm. Triple H says that it’s great to see Shawn and that he realizes that it’s hard to tear himself away from Texas to come to Raw and says that he would like to see him more often than WrestleMania season. Shawn says that he wanted to hear Triple H answer Taker’s challenge. Hunter says that he will not face Taker this year and mentions how Taker hasn’t been around since last year and says that he isn’t willing to be the guy who ends Taker. Shawn tells him that is who he is, a career closer who steps on people’s throats. Shawn asks him if being the COO is all he is now. He mentions that he’s always been there for him but now he sees him as a corporate sellout. Hunter says that he is investing in the future and that Shawn doesn’t get it. Michaels says that he knows that when a guy challenges him and he backs down that makes him a coward. He says he doesn’t care how nice he dresses because at the end of the day a coward is till a coward. Hunter goes to leave and Michaels says that a coward walks away. Hunter says that he has responsibilities and that all of this will be his. He says that he can’t see Taker as just someone to go through anymore. He says that he sees him as a brand that can’t end because it would be bad for business. Then he says that they’re part of an era that no longer exists. Then he says that he will not face Taker for his, or Shawn’s ego, or to do what Shawn couldn’t. Michaels says that he is at peace in his life, but Hunter isn’t. Then Shawn says that he wants Hunter to look him in the eye and tell him that he doesn’t need to face Taker. Hunter takes his jacket off and he and Shawn have a stare down. Finally Hunter takes the mic, looks Shawn in the eye and says no. Shawn walks out of the ring and up the ramp while Hunter stands in the ring. Shawn looks at him one more time before he goes backstage. Then Undertaker’s gong hit and the lights went out and they show another Taker video with Triple H’s promo from last Monday and Taker’s this is not over. Then Taker says that he will get what he wants. He says to give him immortality. They showed Taker cutting his hear in this one too. They go back to Triple H. This was really good! They’re doing a great job building to Taker-HHH. Michaels was great on the mic as always and he and Triple H had a great back and forth. The Undertaker video was good too.

R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler. Truth gets the pin. This was a short match. I’m not sure why Dolph is getting de pushed.

Santino Marella walks into Zack Ryder’s locker room and gives him some Valentine’s tips. He gives Ryder some garlic. Whatever. This was lame too.

Beth Phoenix is on commentary for the next match and they announce that Beth will defend the Divas Title against Tamina at the Elimination Chamber.

Tamina Snuka vs. Brie Bella. Tamina gets the pin. This was short too. Afterwards Tamina & Beth have a face off.

John Cena is in the interview area with Josh Mathews. Time for commercial.

Back from commercial and they show a video package of The Rock on talk shows. This was good.

Then Josh Mathews asks Cena about The Rock. Eve screams in the background and Kane locks her in the ambulance. Then Cena throws Kane into some crates and goes to unlock it but Kane gets him from behind. Kane goes to drive the ambulance out of the building but Cena gets her out and they kiss. Ryder sees this and is all upset. This was crap. They’re gonna have Cena & Ryder feud over Eve?

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. The Miz. Punk wins by submission. This was a decent but short match. They show Chris Jericho watching on a monitor backstage. Punk celebrates with the belt.

They show the ambulance backing into the building and time for a commercial.

Back from commercial and John Cena comes to the ring. He says that he tried to apologize to Ryder but he wouldn’t listen. He apologizes again and says that this was Kane’s plan to turn his friends and the fans against him and that would leave him no choice but to embrace the hate. He says it would’ve worked if it was anybody else, but he isn’t. Then he says that a lot of people think he will reach his breaking point and snap. The fans chant, “We all hate you.” He says that it’s been 6 years and that he is proud to do what he does and people don’t get that he raises above hate. He tells everyone to think he needs to hate. He says that he will adapt, overcome and win. He says that Kane will leave in an ambulance at the Elimination Chamber. Then he gets to The Rock, but before he can say anything Zack Ryder comes out in the wheel chair and gets up and walks on crutches to the ring. He pushes the mic out of Cena’s hand and slaps him. Then Zack asks Cena what kind of man he is and chews out Cena. Zack goes to punch him but Cena blocks it and Ryder falls to the mat. Ryder tells Cena to keep away from him and he rolls out of the ring, gets his crutches and walks back up the ramp. Kane then shows up on the Tron and says that Cena is in denial and that he has finally embraced the hate. Then he says that he feeds off of hate and that Sunday will be the final time he will be in a WWE ring. He says that he will leave in an ambulance and says to have a round of applause for Cena. Cena gets the mic but Kane pushes Ryder off the stage. Cena goes to check on Ryder as medics come out. Then Eve comes out crying and Cena has this sort of pissed look on his face. The medics get Ryder on a stretcher while Cena & Eve watch. This ends the show. This was awful too. Cena’s promo was dumb as usual and the whole bit with him & Ryder was boring. Kane shoving Ryder off the stage and Ryder doing ANOTHER stretcher job was also idiotic!

This week’s show was painful to watch for the most part. The opening debate was retched and so were all the Cena-Eve-Ryder-Kane bits. The Triple H-Shawn Michaels promo followed by The Undertaker video was the highlight of the show! The rest of it was lousy. The matches were way too short and they did a crappy job in the final build to the Elimination Chamber and they made Cena-Kane more important than the chamber title matches! I thought this week’s show was abysmal!!

2-10-12 Smackdown results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 10, 2012 episode of Smackdown

The show starts with Sheamus coming to the ring and he talks about which Title he will challenge for at WrestleMania. Then Wade Barrett comes out and tells Sheamus to challenge the WWE Champion. Then he says that he will win the World Title at the Elimination Chamber and that Sheamus will lose to him at WrestleMania if he challenges for the World Title. Then Cody Rhodes comes out and says he will become the Champion and beat Sheamus at Mania. Then Big Show comes out and says that he will face Sheamus at Mania. Then Barrett says that Snooki has a better Mania record the Show does. Cody says that Giants can win at the Super Bowl but not at WrestleMania. Cody also says that Show has the reverse Undertaker streak and asks who he will lose to this year. Then a brawl starts. Sheamus & Barrett go at it and Cody goes for Beautiful Disaster on Big Show but Show catches him by the throat and pushed him out of the ring and Sheamus clotheslines Barrett to the outside. This was good way to start the show.

Back from commercial and Josh Matthews announces that Big Show & Sheamus will face Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett tonight.

Great Khali vs. Jinder Mahal. Khali gets the pin. This was what you would expect from Khali.

They show Teddy Long suspending Mark Henry from last week.

Teddy Long & Aksana are in his office and he says that last he did what had to be done. Aksana flirts with him for a bit and then Daniel Bryan comes in and asks what’s going on. Aksana walks out and then Daniel asks Long if it’s true that Long had a bar b queue and Long says that he did. Then Daniel goes on the anti meat rant again. Then he says that he’s sick to his stomach and isn’t competing tonight. Then Long he is also sick to his stomach and is tired of Daniel preaching to everyone about being a vegan and he tells him to get set for his mat with Randy Orton. This was kinda weak. I’m tired of the Long-Aksana bit and I don’t know why they’re pushing Daniel Bryan being a vegan so much.

They mention that Shawn Michaels will be on Raw this Monday.

Alicia Fox vs. Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. Beth gets the pin. This was a squash. Afterwards Beth goes after Alicia again but Tamina comes to the ring and she and have a face off in the ring.  Then Beth walks out with the belt. The stare down was good. It looks like they’ll be having Tamina face Beth. Maybe at the Elimination Chamber?

They show a video package of The Rock talking about how he grew up around the wrestling business. This was really well done!

Tyson Kidd is backstage with Natalya and she’s talking about how she can’t help herself. Tyson says that it’s disgusting but natural. Then Natalya says that when she gets nervous she talks too much and asks what Tyson was thinking. He says he wasn’t thinking anything and cue the fart sound. Tyson leaves and then Hornswoggle walks by and passes out. They show him on the floor and Natalya says that it was Tyson and she walks off. This was awful. I don’t get why Natalya is being booked this way.

Sheamus & Big Show vs. Wade Barrett & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Sheamus & Show win when Sheamus pins Barrett. This was a good match.

Michael Cole comes to the ring and introduces AJ. She comes to the ring & Cole asks how she feels. AJ says she is ok and will be getting the neck brace off soon. Then she thanks the fans for supporting her and Cole says that no one knows who she really is. Then he asks if she blames Big Show and says that he almost bumped into her again Monday and he asks her why she’s always at ringside. AJ says that she was at ringside Monday because Daniel asked her to be there. She then says that she never blamed Big Show for what happened to her. Then she says that Cole has done a lot more damage than Big Show because he’s never believed in Daniel and that he’s been stirring things up. Then she mentions how he has insulted Daniel, her and the whole Divas division. Then she calls him a biased, obnoxious jerk. Then Cole tries to speak but AJ says that he wasn’t finished and says that WWE would be a better place if he shut his mouth. Then Cole says that he’s doing his job and that he gets paid for his insightful commentary and his personality. Then he tells her that everyone in the locker room believes that Daniel doesn’t really love AJ and that he set her up. Then he says that she’s blindly in love with Daniel and that she would throw herself in front of a bus for him and that Daniel has no guts. Then he tells AJ that she has no self respect. Cole then says that he will be in all his glory after the Elimination Chamber because Daniel & AJ will be nothing more than footnotes in WWE history. Then Daniel Bryan comes to the ring and says that he’s had enough and is going to break Cole’s arms. Cole gives his mic to AJ and gets out of the ring. Bryan tells Cole that AJ has been through enough and doesn’t need Cole to verbally harass her because he doesn’t like Daniel. Then he says that he is the World Champion and a role model. Daniel then says that he was on a nature walk Sunday while everyone was eating meat and drinking beer & soda watching the Super Bowl. He asks the fans how many of them recycled and thought about saving the environment. Then he says that he does because he cares about future generations. He says that he also cares about AJ and kisses her on the head. Then he says that because of the way that AJ has been treated he is taking her home. They walk to the back and Teddy Long shows up and tells Daniel that he will have AJ taken home but if Daniel leaves the building then he loses the World Title. This was WAY too long! They could’ve done without Michael Cole. Also Daniel Bryan being a heel because he’s a vegan is idiotic and one of the lamest reasons for a guy to be a heel. I’m also way beyond tired of Cole ragging on him! He’s been doing this for 2 years and now Daniel’s a heel and he still rags on him! This makes no sense!!

Ted DiBiase, Jr. vs. Hunico. Ted gets the pin. This match was ok.

Michael Cole interviews Johnny Ace on the phone. Ace is in Abu Dhabi on the Raw tour and says how great it is to be there and that the Board of Directors made the right decision having him remain Raw GM and says that Monday will be special. This was idiotic.

They show the ad that Shawn Michaels will be on Raw this Monday.

Randy Orton vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan wins by DQ when Big Show (who was on commentary) throws him back in the ring when Daniel was trying to bail out with the title. Orton then gives Daniel the RKO but the referee calls for the bell. Afterwards Big Show & Orton have words and then they brawl and Daniel heads up the ramp watching. This ends the show.

I thought this was mixed bag overall. I thought the opening segment was good and the Orton-Bryan match was really good also. I liked the Orton-Show brawl at the end too. I thought the AJ-Michael Cole-Daniel Bryan segment went way too long. It could’ve been good if they didn’t have Cole in there and just have Bryan cutting a heel promo. The guy’s good as a heel but I don’t know why him being a vegan is the main reason. I liked The Rock video package too. They did a great job with that. Ted & Hunico was ok but short. Alicia-Beth was a squash but the Tamina-Beth face off was good. The tag match was good too. I thought all 4 guys worked hard. On the whole though this was a middle of the road Smackdown.

2-9-12 Impact results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 9, 2012 episode of Impact

The show starts with Bully Ray coming to the ring and he says he wants to talk to Bobby Roode and calls him out. Roode comes to the ring and Ray asks him why he wouldn’t assist him in his match last week with James Storm. He says that he had Roode’s back but Roode didn’t have his and says that Roode is Champion because he has saving him for 2 months. Roode says that he has always had Ray’s back. Then Ray says that he put a knife in his back. Then Roode says that his problem is with the same guy he has a problem with and that is Sting. Then Sting comes out and says that he will be the enforcer in the 4 way World Title match at Against All Odds. Then he says that he will team with James Storm and they will face Ray & Roode later tonight. This was a good opening segment. Ray was great on the mic as always and he & Roode had a good back and forth. Sting’s been really good too.

The show Hulk Hogan & Garrett Bischoff walking backstage.

They show video recapping the AJ Styles-Frankie Kazarian storyline.

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. Daniels gets the pin after hitting AJ with bras knux. Daniels threw the knux to Kazarian who was at ringside and later on Daniels asked for them and Kazarian wouldn’t. Then Daniels asks for them again and Kazarian reluctantly hands them to him. This was a good match. AJ & Daniels are really talented. They’re doing a good job with this storyline too.

Gunner & Eric Bischoff are backstage and Eric tells Gunner that he wants him by his side and that they will take out Hogan & Garrett tonight. Gunner says not to worry. This was decent.

Magnus & Samoa Joe come to the ring. Magnus puts over the England crowd and says that tonight he gets to say that he has com home and he brought his tag partner with him. Then he talks about how the team formed when they did the Wild Card Tag Team Tournament and how everyone said the team wouldn’t work but they proved everybody wrong. Then he says that the only Matt Morgan & Crimson are a team is because they’re afraid to face each other. Then he says that he & Joe will beat them and win the tag titles at Against All Odds. Then Matt Morgan & Crimson come out and they brawl for a bit. This was really good too. Magnus cut a really good promo and he & Joe are a good tag team. This storyline has been good also.

Alex Shelly vs. Doug Williams vs. X Division Champion Austin Aries. Shelly wins when he pins Aries. This was a really good match.

Hulk Hogan & Garrett Bischoff are backstage and Sting comes in and says it’s great to see Hulk. Then Hulk thanks him for making him see the light. They say that Garret’s on the right track and then Hogan says that Sting is doing a great job running Impact and he tells him that he has a big target on his back. He says that if there is anything Sting needs Hulk is there. Then Hogan turns to the camera and tells the cameraman to split. This was a little weak.

They show a clip of Tara & Gail Kim going at it outside the building.

They show Tara filming some of England and then Gail Kim comes in and they brawl. Then Gail asks how’s that for home footage. Courtesy of Gail Kim. This was good too.

Hulk Hogan& Garrett Bischoff come to the ring. Hulk talks about how he hadn’t been in the UK in 18 years and says that the fans made him realize that Hulkamania was gonna live forever. He says that he appreciates everything the fans have done for him and now he wants the fans to do for Garrett what they’ve done for him. Then he puts over Garrett and says that he wanted a chance to show he had the wrestling business in his blood but his dad stood in the way. Then Gunner & Eric Bischoff come out and Eric asks Hogan who he thinks he is and that he has no right to be involved in this. Then Hulk says that it’s not about Eric. It’s about Garrett and his future. Eric says that if he had his way Garrett wouldn’t have a future. Then he tells Hulk that his day is over. Hulk then says that he has Hulkamania stroke. Then he says that he talked with Sting and that Sting let him book a match for Against All Odds and says Garrett will face Gunner. Then Eric gives Hulk a low blow and then he & Gunner beat down Garrett. Hogan then Hulks up and saves Garrett. Then Hulk holds Eric and Garrett punches him. This wasn’t too bad actually. Hogan got a massive pop from the fans and I thought this was one of his better promos that he’s done in awhile.

Bully Ray & Bobby Roode are backstage and they bicker again and Ray says that they’re great tag team wrestlers. Then they says that they will take care of Sting & James Storm tonight. Ray offers his hand but Roode says that he doesn’t shake hands and then they hug. This was good too.

Hulk & Garrett are in the garage and Hulk tells Garrett that at the PPV he will not let Eric interfere during Garret’s match with Gunner. This was ok.

Mickie James vs. Velvet Sky. Velvet gets the pin. This was a good match too.

The show a video package for the 4 Way and Roode, Storm, Ray & Hardy all spoke throughout it. This was put together really well.

Sting & James Storm are backstage and Sting says it will be show time. Storm says that tonight Storm will leave his mark. This was ok too.

Sting & James Storm vs. Bully Ray & TNA World Champion Bobby Roode. Sting & Storm win when Sting makes Roode tap. Ray came in with the belt to hit Sting and make the save for Roode but then he got in Roode’s face and said he will see him in 3 days and then walked out on Roode. Ray walks up the ramp looking into the camera to end the show. This was a good back and forth match. I read that Sting got a legit heel injury during this. I hope he’s gonna be alright.

I liked this week’s show overall! There were a lot of great matches and promos/segments that really advanced the storylines. Even hulk Hogan was watchable this week. On the whole this was a great show!!

2-6-12 Raw results and thoughts

Coverage and thoughts on the February 6, 2012 episode of Raw

The show starts with Triple H coming to the ring and he says that he was out there last week to can Johnny Ace. He mentioned that he never got to it and then he says that Ace is backstabbing, lying weasel and those are his good qualities. Then he mentions that Ace flew to Stamford pleading with the Board of Directors and they told not to make a final decision till they review everything. Then he mentions that the board might make a decision tomorrow morning. Then he talks about The Undertaker returning. He mentions that he hadn’t been seen since WrestleMania last year. He says that when Taker’s gong goes he gets butterflies in his stomach after 20 years and that he stands before him truly humbled to be in the ring with him. He mentions that Taker pointed to the WrestleMania sign, which meant he wanted a rematch. Then he says that last week he wasn’t humbled to stand in front of him but was sorry and felt bad for him. He says that he chooses to remember Taker in a certain way. Then they show a video package of Undertaker highlights. Triple H says that is how he wants to remember Taker and not this way. Then they show Taker being wheeled out at WrestleMania last year. Triple H says that Taker’s legacy will never be matched and mentions the 19-0 streak. He then says that out of respect he says no to Taker’s challenge. Then he mentions their match from last year and how Taker kept coming back. He then says that if they have a rematch this year Triple H will have to finish it and maybe that’s what Taker wants. He mentions that Taker has limits and that they saw them last year and that he will not be the guy who pushes him past them. Then he says that this is over. His music plays, but then stops and the lights go out and they show the back of his head and clips from last year’s match with Taker saying, “This is not over.” Then he says that his win over him means nothing and Taker says to give him what he wants which is vengeance and he will give Triple H immortality. Then he says this is not over again. Then they go back to Triple H. This was a decent opening segment. I liked that Triple H put over Undertaker and his career. The video with Taker saying this is not over was cool too.

Before the Big Show-Daniel Bryan match starts Bryan has AJ come out. She’s reluctant but he tells her she will be safe.

Big Show vs. World Champion Daniel Bryan. Big Show wins by count out when Bryan takes AJ to the back. Then Bryan gets on the mic and asks what kind of man Big Show is. He says that Show just proved that when ran into AJ it was on purpose. Then he says that protecting AJ means more than winning or losing but at the Elimination Chamber he will still be World Champion. The match wasn’t much. Bryan faked a knee injury and then Show was goin to splash Daniel but he got out of the way and Show almost hit AJ again. Daniel’s promo was decent but I’m not sure why they’re pushing him being a vegan. Also how is anyone supposed to take him seriously after Michael Cole has been ragging on him for 2 YEARS and now that he’s a heal the other commentators aren’t speaking fondly of him either. WWE does it again!

They show a NASCAR driver pulling into the building and he invites Cena to start some NASCAR race February 26. Then they talk about his match with The Rock at WrestleMania. This was from last Monday. This was lame.

They show a video package for the Elimination Chamber match.

David Otunga is in the ring and he says that he never had a boss more creative or intelligent as Johnny Ace. He says that he can only Pray that that the Board of Directors lets him keep his job as Raw GM. Then he kneels and Prays. Then Justin Roberts says that he got word from Triple H that Otunga will be in a match right now. Sheamus’ music plays and he comes out.

Sheamus vs. David Otunga. Sheamus gets the pin. Sheamus beat the crap out of Otunga most of the match. Otunga’s promo was horrific and the match wasn’t much either.

The lights in the arena go out and Chris Jericho comes to the ring. He says that the end of the world as we know it has arrived. He says that everyone on the roster is a rip off of him. Then he says that every fan is also a Chris Jericho wanna be. He then says that he manipulated the fans without speaking. Then he mentions how Miz, Kofi, R-Truth, Dolph & CM Punk have all copied him in different ways. Then he says that Punk is not original and isn’t the best in the world. Jericho says that he is the best in the world at everything he does and he mentions how he became the first Undisputed Champion and that he has earned the write to be called the best in the world. He then says that it is the end of the world as we know it because he is back to reclaim what is his. Then CM Punk’s music plays and he comes to the ring with a mic. He and Jericho have a stare down and Punk drops the mic and holds up the belt. Then he turns his back to Jericho and walks out. Then Jericho screams at Punk for not saying anything. This was good stuff. I thought Jericho cut a good promo and I liked that they had Punk be the guy to not speak. This feud has the potential to be really good. Hopefully WWE doesn’t drop the ball with this.

Randy Orton & Great Khali vs. Wade Barrett & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Orton & Khali win when Khali pins Cody. I’m not sure they had Cody job to Khali. Afterwards, Khali grabs Orton by the throat and then pushes him off the ropes but Orton ducks and gives Khali an RKO. This match was ok for what it was.

They show the John Cena video package. I hope they’re not gonna show the same video package on every show till WrestleMania! I get building up to his match with The Rock but they should have different video packages for both guys! I’m already tired of the ones they show now.

Eve Torres, Tamina, Alicia Fox & Kelly Kelly vs. The Bella Twins, Natalya & Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. Eve, Tamina, Alicia & Kelly win when Tamina pins one of the Bellas. This was filler. I don’t know why they had this match again after having this was a filler match at the Royal Rumble!

They show a clip of The Rock on The Tonight Show that will be on channel 4 later tonight.

Triple H is on his phone and Johnny Ace comes in and says that he met with the board and he will accept whatever decision they make. Then he tells Triple H that Shawn Michaels will be on Raw next week. Then he says that he suggested to the board to have John Cena face Kane at the Elimination Chamber in an Ambulance Match. Triple H says that sounds like a good idea and then he threatens to put Ace in an ambulance right now. This was terrible.

Michael Cole announces that the Board of Director decision about Johnny Ace will be posted on wwe.com at tomorrow morning.

Then they reshow the Undertaker video package from the start of the show.

Josh Mathews asks Johnny Ace what he thinks the Board will decide. Ace says that he has made mistakes and that the board will make the right decision. Then he mentions how Triple refused to face Undertaker.

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth vs. The Miz in a 6 Pack Challenge. The winner will be the last one to enter the Elimination Chamber match. Jericho wins when he pins Dolph. This was a good match. R-Truth was taken out because of an injury after he dove out of the ring (hope it’s not a real one). Jericho sits in the ring with holding the belt as Punk looks on from the floor.

Then Kane is telling Eve that Cena is starting to embrace the hate and says that he is afraid for Eve, Cena or anyone who gets in his path if Cena doesn’t embrace the hate. Then he says that he is afraid of himself. This crap ends the show! Eve was crying in freight the whole time.

I thought that this was a weak show overall. There weren’t too many memorable matches/segments on here. The 6 man main event was good and I hope R-Truth isn’t legit injured. The opening Triple H promo was decent and I liked the Undertaker video. The whole bit with Johnny Ace was awful as usual and I could care less what they’re gonna do with him. The Big Show-Daniel Bryan match wasn’t much either. It was more of a continuation of their feud, which was ok but it was more of an angle than a match. David Otunga cutting a promo was awful and then Sheamus squashing him wasn’t much. The divas match was filler and I don’t know why they had the same match that was at the Rumble (I did read that Eve broke her nose during the match after Beth gave her a hard clothesline. I hope she’s gonna be ok). The backstage segment that ended the show with Kane & Eve was retched! I don’t know why they decided to end the show with this idiocy. They should have ended the show with Jericho sitting in the ring holding the belt. On the whole I thought this was a weak Raw.
