Coverage and thoughts on the November 4, 2013 episode of Raw

The show starts with CM Punk coming to the ring. He’s gonna be in a match. Before that they reshow Punk being attacked last week by The Wyatt family. Then out go the lights & out come The Wyatt family. Then they reshow The Wyatts attacking Daniel Bryan from last week.

CM Punk vs. Luke Harper. Punk gets the pin. This was a good back & forth match.

Afterwards Rowan comes in & he & Harper double team Punk. Then Bray gets in the ring but out comes Daniel Bryan with a chair. He runs off Harper & Rowan but Bray gets him. Then Punk gets a chair & runs The Wyatt family off. This was a really good way to kick off the show. I liked that they started with a match & this program has been good so far.

They reshow the wwe.com interview with HHH. Who cares?

Then they reshow Big Show knocking out HHH from last month.

Tonight the fans can vote for who they want Randy Orton to face. Dolph, Big E or Miz.

Also Cena & The Rhodes Brothers will face Damien Sandow & The Real Americans in a rematch from Smackdown.

Backstage Renee Young interviews Punk. She assumes he wasn’t expecting a fair fight. Punk’s been dealing with Heyman & his goons so he’s used to being outnumbered. But they need to realize they will be out gunned. What he didn’t realize is that he isn’t the only one who has an n issue with The Wyatt family. This was a good promo.

Time for a phone interview with Paul Heyman. He’s in Europe getting treatment after what happened to him last Sunday. He has spine trauma, bruised kidney & face swelling. What Punk did to him was a travesty. Punk beat Heyman within an inch of his life & after everything they’ve been through that’s inexcusable. Heyman then says Punk & the fans owe him an apology. Michael Cole asks if Heyman’s crying & Heyman hangs up. This was good too.

We see a video from the App of Ryback bullying Hornswoggle. Then Santino comes in & tells Ryback to pick on someone his own size. Santino’s referring to Khali, who is standing behind Ryback. This was lame. Ryback certainly has been pushed down the card.

Great Khali vs. Ryback. Ryback gets the pin. This was weak.

Then Ryback yanks Santino out of the ring. Then he looks at Hornswoggle but Santino jumps on Ryback. Ryback throws Santino into the barrier & heads up the ramp.

They reshow 3 weeks ago when Big Show helped The Rhodes Brothers beat Rollins & Reigns for the tag titles.

Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio wins by submission. This was a good back & forth match too.

They show a video recapping the Big Show-WWE Lawsuit. They show clips of HHH & Stephanie ragging on Big Show followed up with some text about slander, breach of contract, intimidation, extortion & exploitation & wrongful termination. This was terrible. I’m really tired of this program.

Time for the commentators to show us how social media works & plug the App. UGH!

Randy Orton comes to the ring. Time to find out who the fans picked for him to wrestle. Before that Orton gets the mic. He asks the fans if they really think they have choice. They have no power by picking his opponent on the App. He rags on the guys & says their girlfriends/wives are fanaticizing about being with Orton. Then he says that none of the male fans will amount to half the guy that he is. He looks at the fans & sees faces of jealousy & failure. He finds disgusting. Orton’s the face of WWE & the only choice the fans have tonight is who will be his next victim. Now it’s time to find out who Orton will face. It’s Big E Langston.

Big E Langston vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton. Orton gets the pin. This was a solid match.

They reshow what looked like the same clip of the wwe.com HHH interview.

They reshow Smackdown from 3 weeks ago when Big Show knocked out Brad Maddox.

Then they show him from 2 weeks ago when he came into the arena in the truck during the Daniel-Orton contract signing.

They show a clip of Tyson Kidd & Natalya’s wedding.

Tyson Kidd & Natalya vs. Fandango & Summer Rae. Tyson & Natalya win when Tyson makes Fandango tap. This was a solid match & it was good to see Tyson Kidd back.

Backstage Renee Young interviews Damien Sandow. She says Sandow’s the second guy to unsuccessfully cash in MITB. Then they reshow clips of the Cena-Sandow match. What are his thoughts? Sandow says that this hasn’t kept him up at night. The thought of the referee counting 1-2-3 & being stripped of his world title reign hasn’t left his mind. He was stripped of everything. When that happens you need to look at yourself.  Last week he didn’t see himself as an intellectual savior. He saw himself as a guy who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Then in come The Real Americans. Zeb says that he along with Cesaro & Swagger will get back at Cena & The Rhodes Brothers. We the people. Then Sandow says, “Me your uncrowned world champion.”  This was a decent backstage bit. Sandow cut a good promo but I’m tired of The Real Americans gimmick. What bothered me about this was that they acted like this 6 man never happened on Smackdown. Why bother having a match on Smackdown & then have a rematch on Raw & not even mention that the match happened on Smackdown? They didn’t say this was a rematch. They just made like the match on Smackdown never happened. I thought that was insulting.

They reshow Big Show knocking out Orton from last Monday.

John Cena comes to the ring. He says in a bit his partners will be coming out for the 6 man tag. Then he plugs the Susan G. Komen charity.  He thanks the fans. Then he points out some breast cancer survivors in the crowed. The fans support has helped them. The cancer survivors have overcome odds & never stopped fighting. They’re the true champions. Now it’s time for his partners to come out so they can show that THE CHAMPS ARE HERE!! This was a really good & classy promo.

Zeb Coulter & Alberto Del Rio are on commentary.

WWE Champion John Cena and WWE Tag Team Champions Goldust & Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow & The Real Americans. Cena & The Rhodes Brothers win when Goldust pins Cesaro. This was a really good back & forth match.

Time for more of Big Show’s law suit. They show the same clips of HHH & Stephanie ragging on Big Show that they showed before! WHY ARE THEY SHOWING THIS TWICE!?

Backstage we Big Show all dress up. He walks by The Primetime Players, R-Truth & Zack Ryder. He slaps their hands.

Backstage we see HHH. Vickie says “he” is here. HHH asks who “he” is (I don’t know why. He wasn’t watching?) She says Big Show is here. HHH flips & asks how he got in there. Then in comes Stephanie. She let Big Show in the building because the board of directors told her too. HHH doesn’t care what the board says. She says this is bigger than them. They can’t afford to take any risks. The board doesn’t want lawyers involved. It has to be just them & Big Show. Stephanie says HHH has never had any problem taking McMahon family money. HHH asks Stephanie why she never called him (YOU’RE MARRIED TO HER IDIOT! YOU LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE! WHY WOULD SHE HAVE TO CALL YOU!?) Then HHH tells Vickie to get Big Show & bring him to the office. This was terrible!!! I’m WAY PAST TIRED of this Big Show-HHH storyline! Now the board of directors finally gets involved? What took so long!? I’m running out of things to say about this angle! It’s just terrible!!

Dolph Ziggler vs. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. Dolph gets the pin. This was a solid match.

Backstage we see Daniel Bryan. Renee Young comes by. She asks if attacking the Wyatt family was a wise decision. Daniel says that it’s usually best not to walk into the mouth of madness but he saw a chance for pay back & he took it. It looks like there’s someone else who also has an issue with The Wyatt family. This was a good promo.

The Usos come to the ring. Break time.

Back from break & we go back to HHH & Stephanie. Vickie comes in. They asks where Big Show is. Vickie says Big Show is willing to meet with them but in their office. Stephanie tells Vickie to tell Big Show to be a man & come in the office. Vickie says that Big Show wants to meet them in the ring DUH! This was painful! It was predictable that Big Show would wanna met with HHH & Stephanie in the ring because THAT’S WHAT ALWAYS HAPPENS! Why were HHH & Stephanie acting like wanting to talk about issues in the ring has never happened before!?  McMahon family WE’RE NOT STUPID!! QUIT INSULTING EVERYBODY’S INTELLIGENCE!!!

The Usos vs. Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre. The Usos win. This was a squash.

Backstage Renee Young interviews Los Matadores. Since they’re debut they’ve been making quite an impact. Then they a show a video package on their success. Then Torito comes in. They say he’s a bit “horny”, meaning that he might “horn” Renee in the knees. This was idiotic but thankfully it was short. I did like Renee’s reaction here though.

Eva Marie & The Bella Twins vs. Divas Champion AJ Lee, Aksana & Tamina Snuka. Eva Marie & The Bella Twins win when Eva Marie pins Tamina. This was ok but I can’t believe they had Eva Marie pin Tamina.

Daniel Bryan will face Luke Harper on Smackdown.

HHH & Stephanie come to the ring (They saved the worst for the end). HHH says Big Show wants them out there, waste everybody’s time & make it all about himself. He tells Show to come out. Stephanie tells him to come out too & says he is in high demand. Out comes Big Show. Stephanie says they’ve all agreed to settle this with no lawyers. What does Big Show want? Big Show wants a broom for Stephanie to fly back to CT on. HHH says seeing how Show’s broke this is probably about money. How big a check does Big Show want now? Show says this is about being in WWE & performing in front of the fans. This is a great place to work no matter how hard HHH makes it. Big Show wants his job back. HHH says Show can take his job &…Stephanie calms HHH & tells Big Show that he’s got his job back. Then Show leads the fans in a yes chant. Big Show then says there’s 1 more thing. To make the world’s largest lawsuit go away the world’s largest athlete deserves the world’s largest bonus. What Show wants is something he’s never had before. He’s been here for 18 years & he’d like to be the face of WWE. Stephanie asks Big Show if he’s looked in the mirror. Then out comes The Shield. Big Show asks if HHH & Stephanie realize what’s at stake. Break time. This is terrible. Why are they dragging this out into 2 segments? I also hate that they gave Big Show the yes chant. Daniel Bryan really got the shaft here!

Back from break & Big Show tells HHH to tread lightly. What Big Show wants is a WWE Title match with Orton at Survivor Series. HHH says Show got his job back & to be good with that. Show asks if that’s HHH’s final answer. HHH says absolutely. Then Show says that tomorrow morning his lawyers will be in touch with the WWE lawyers & Show will own them. Show goes to leave but HHH tells him to wait. Big Show has his title match. Big Show couldn’t hear him. HHH says it again a bit louder. Big Show still can’t hear him after Stephanie busted his ear drum a few weeks ago. So HHH tells Big Show for a third time but Big Show still doesn’t hear him. Big Show tells HHH to try 1 more time in a clear voice. HHH says Show has his job back & a WWE Title match at Survivor Series against Orton. Show asks if HHH wants to shake on it. HHH says since Show works for him again HHH only sees fit that Show be in a handicap match against not just The Shield but Randy Orton too. Out comes Orton. This show is going into overtime?

Big Show vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton & The Shield. Kane’s music hits & he comes out in a suit. Then Orton gives Show an RKO. Then Kane throws chairs into the ring. Orton & The Shield beat on Big Show with the chairs & the bell rings.

The beat down continues. Then Kane takes apart the announce table. The Shield drags Big Show out of the ring, Reigns picks up the steel steps & hits Big Show. Then The Shield gives Big Show the triple power bomb through the announce table. Orton kneels over Big Show telling him that he doesn’t have chance. The heels stand over the fallen Big Show & Orton holds the belt over his head to end the show. This was beyond terrible!! Big Show “gets his job back” & then gets the crap beat out of him & no other baby faces come out to do anything? This was just idiotic!! This did nothing for Big Show. Once again WWE has to remind us that this is all about the McMahon family & that no one can get their revenge on HHH & Stephanie!!

I thought this was a solid show from 8:00-10:15. Then it went down-hill!  There were a lot of really good matches on this week’s show & then they had to have that crap at the end! I really enjoyed Punk-Harper, Kofi-Del Rio & the 6 man tag! They were all really good matches! I liked that Daniel Bryan came out help Punk run The Wyatt family off too. Bot Punk & Daniel also cut good, short promos backstage. The Sandow-Real Americans backstage bit before the 6 man tag was decent too. Khali-Ryback was weak as you’d expect. Dolph-Axel was solid. I’m glad Axel is back from his injury. The mixed tag was decent too & it was nice to see Tyson Kidd back. I liked that they actually said that he & Natalya are married. The bit with Renee Young & Los Matadores was the typical idiocy we’ve seen with this gimmick but thankfully it was short & Renee’s reaction to Torito was kinda funny. The Usos vs. Heath & Drew was a squash. The whole Big Show vs. HHH & Stephanie angle is WAY PAST PAINFULLY STUPID!! The backstage bits with HHH, Stephanie & Vickie were idiotic & the closing segment was more of the same painful crap that we’ve been getting for 3 months!! The show started out really good & I was really hoping there wouldn’t be any long winded painful in ring promos but of course we had to have that illogical crap at the end of this show! Plus it was 5 minutes extra! Overall I thought this week’s show was good from 8:00-10:15. So if recorded it watch those 2 hours & 15 minutes!
